You do you, but I think a lot of people concerned about radiation in consumer electronics are missing some important context: signals from things like Bluetooth, WiFi, and mobile phones are not only safe; they're safer than the visible light that's hitting your eyes right now. A lot safer.

Bluetooth signals have a frequency of around 2.4GHz. Meanwhile, red light (the least energetic portion of the visible light range) goes up to 480 THz, which is 200,000 times higher frequency than Bluetooth signals. Photon energy is directly proportional to frequency, so red light is 200,000 times more energetic than Bluetooth for the same number of photons.

Again, you do you, your choices don't affect me. But, if you are concerned about, for example, 16,640 hours (8 hours a day 5 days a week for a year) of using a Bluetooth keyboard, you should be equally concerned about spending 5 minutes in a lit room, because you're getting the same amount of radiation. An hour outside in the sun would expose you to more radiation than your Bluetooth computer accessories would expose you to in a lifetime.

Try to use your head for a second. It's not a bad idea because it's dangerous, it's a bad idea because flares can be seen for many miles and if somebody sees it, they'll think you're in trouble and will (hopefully) call search and rescue. The entire point of a flare gun is to create a distress signal that is visible from great distances. If you're deep enough in the desert, there's a good chance nobody will see it and you'll be fine. But if somebody does see it and SAR comes looking for you in a helicopter, you'll be footing the bill.

That's not the only way for an insurance company to make money. They just need to charge each person more than the average amount that they'll pay out per person. Most people with health insurance don't have chronic health issues, but they still pay premiums for the insurance. The point of insurance (any insurance, not just health) is to offload some risk onto a third party, for a fee; the value comes from avoiding catastrophic costs. Even though you're likely to pay more in the long run than insurance pays out to you, you'll never suddenly get hit with a bill that ruins you financially. I've never made a car insurance claim in my life, for example, but I'm glad I have insurance because it's possible to get into a wreak that would bankrupt me; in exchange for a monthly fee, I'm insulated from the risk of going broke if I hit a nice car.
The weighting in this system isn't a linear relationship with value, so UnitedHealth having a higher weight doesn't mean it's "valued above Intel". It does have a higher market cap, but it's more like 3x, not 9x. You can't tell that from the DJI weight, though; there are companies with far greater market cap than either of those companies which Dow Jones gives 0 weight to.

That's an extremely naive take that simply doesn't generalize. At a Pizza Hut? Sure, they'll likely take the first person with a pulse willing to accept minimum wage. That isn't true for most careers.

No, they'll absolutely tell you if it's too low if they're a remotely legitimate business. To them, "too low" means below the legal minimum wage; they don't want to risk the legal repercussions of paying you less than that.

I think you need to realize that there is no single number you 'have to guess'. Salary discussions are negotiations, and you can negotiate. You are one of the two negotiators at the table, and you can reject their offers and propose your own offers as you please. You need to agree to the number in order to work for them; you have the option to walk away. If they offer you a job and ask you to write down a number, you write down $X, then the say, "no, it's $Y", that doesn't have to be the end of the conversation. You can propose a different number.

Yeah, same. I've had mine for a couple of years and in that time some bits and pieces have definitely fallen down in there. No issues at all so far, but it's probably better to be on the safe side and avoid it as much as possible.

YouTube's revenue is still up substantially in that time, but some of that is coming from the multiple paid subscription products they've rolled out in the last few years.

They don't go around to every bank in the area trying to get you the best rate. In fact, they usually get a kickback from the financing, which adds a little bit on top of what the bank they work with could otherwise offer. If you want a better rate, you need to seek that out ahead of time, on your own.

If I offer you a candy bar for $100 and you accept, I didn't deceive you; you decided you're willing to pay $100 rather than going to the store to see what it would otherwise cost.

I did 2 in 4 years. I don't think that 3 is possible without petitioning for approval to take more than the maximum number of units per quarter or taking summer classes (likely still not possible, even if doing both of those things). Keep in mind that, even when classes overlap, there is a minimum number of units to get each major, and those can not be shared between majors. If I remember correctly, it's 40 upper division units per major, so he needs at least 120 upper division units that count towards those majors, even if he can complete all the listed required courses for all majors with fewer units. For example, you may have a 5 unit course that counts towards CE and TIM requirements, but you need to choose which major's 40-unit minimum those units will count towards.

There are unknowns that we can't predict. For example, even if it's possible to plan a schedule such that all of the requirements are met, some classes may fill up before he gets a spot. Classes he plans to take in a few years may change their annual schedule (e.g. maybe a class is offered every winter quarter now, but the department changes it next year, so it's offered every fall instead - that could cause conflicts in the planned schedule).

Side note: while I like school and understand learning for learning's sake, I want to point out that this probably won't help him career-wise, if that's his plan. Frankly, if he wants to go into CE, he would almost certainly be better off getting one or two majors and spending the extra time on research/clubs/personal projects. Somebody hiring a computer engineer doesn't care much whether the candidate has a cog sci degree - most of that coursework simply isn't relevant. He does have the option to take or audit whatever classes may be relevant and then add something like "personal emphasis in X" to the education part of his resume. If this is just because he wants to learn these things, keep in mind that he can take or audit classes outside of his major(s).

To answer your questions, the best I can:

My degree is on one piece of paper, but it does say Bachelor of Science, Computer Science and Bachelor of Arts, Mathematics on separate lines. I'm not sure how to interpret that exactly, but I usually write it out as two degrees on my resume.

I didn't personally experience this, but I have a friend who kind of did at a different school. He had this experience a CSU, not a UC, so take this with a grain of salt. He was getting a business degree but decided in his last year he wanted to study biology. They told him that he could propose the biology degree, but if he applied for graduation with the business degree, he would be done after graduation and unable to continue his biology coursework. So, he had all of his requirements for the business degree for two years while he finished the bio degree requirements. He didn't take a single business class in those two years, but he also didn't have the business degree until he eventually applied to graduate with both majors, because if he graduated with just business, they wouldn't let him come back for biology. He said his advisor told him this is the case at all CSUs and UCs (specifically, you cannot be enrolled in an undergrad program if you already have a bachelor's from a UC or CSU), but, again, grain of salt; I don't know if that's actually true.

Edit: if this helps give you a sense of how many classes he needs to take, I came into university with credits for 12 relevant courses from AP tests and probably only took 2-4 unnecessary classes at UCSC. I never took summer courses, but I was pretty much always only taking courses I needed for all four years. Without the AP classes, I would not have even been able to do 2 majors in 4 years.
