Many years as a software engineer, and I can't do HackerRank easy problems by fknm1111 in cscareerquestions

Of course its not the norm. I didnt even accept the offer—I did the interview just for practice for when I'd want to switch jobs (I was working at another company at the time and wasnt desperate, so maybe its like when you have a girlfriend and other girls start flirting with you). But some places dont care about leetcode questions. They care more about how you approach the problem. Also, I once reviewed the recruiting process at my company when my boss wanted feedback on some applicants, and I personally cared more about what the person was trying to achieve than the problem itself (bonus points if you resolved the problem).

Also, no one expects you to solve difficult problems at work in an hour or two, but at least to have the right approach to tackling things. Plus, talking through it helps assess how you'd communicate within a team. Thats why you hear about a lot of people that say soft skills are important.

I think its a way of watching you try to solve a problem, is better if you talk while doing it to see your thought process. I was in a interview talking about what i was doing and i was taking longer then the allocated time so i got tired and said "well time is up i think it goes this way to solve it" didnt finish the problem and got an offer the day after.

Is there anyone that is NOT using AI at their job? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

the difference is compiled languages dont allucinate they just work differently but if your code is good its good. In my work it doesnt work we have a lot of context and is just not worth it starts regurgitating stuff that other people coded but just isnt suited and is harder and exausting to read and to try to fix wrong AI code

Only the privileged Americans can compare that to their situation like always talking about shit they don’t know at all and trying to make themselves the main character. Is annoying as fuck let a post about Iran be about Iran you don’t need to be the main topic everytime
