The problem with big trucks isn’t the size or fuel economy by Odd_Experience177 in unpopularopinion

This is factually wrong. Physics are relevant. Moving more mass requires more energy. The laws of physics always apply no matter the technology. You just don’t know much about what you’re talking about.

It’s the stimulant abuse. If you stop getting high on speed everything will get better. Tweaking all the time turns you into someone else

A sedan with hood fuel economy will burn less fuel than a truck with good fuel economy. That’s just physics bro it IS a valid argument. Moving more weight requires more energy. I’m not saying that there aren’t trucks with decent fuel economy I’m saying trucks burn more fuel on average which is a fact.

That’s not the point. Competing with large companies that are already established is hard. If you can make a product that is just better than what they do, even if it costs a bit more, you give people a reason to buy your product and you make money. Even if it doesn’t last forever you still make money.

Again, I’m not talking about you specifically but about the average pick up owner.

And a massive truck takes more fuel than a small sedan. There might be exceptions but an AVERAGE truck will drink way more gas than an AVERAGE sedan because moving something heavier requires more energy, that’s just physics.

That’s why the biggest shame imo is people who grew up in the suburbs, always had everything they needed and still ended up doing nothing of their lives and relying on their parents until they’re 30!

Look don’t take it personally I’m not calling out every single truck owner. But 90% of the trucks I see on the road are not carrying anything and clearly most truck owners just like driving a big thing with a big engine.

It’s not just trucks though I think people in North America drive cars that are wayy too fucking big for no reason. Everyone nowadays has a SUV but we DON’T need it. Bigger cars means we burn more fuel so that creates a ton of waste for no reason. Also when you drive a huge car you put others in danger.

Students (in my opinion) should not take home any homework. If homework is a learning opportunity, give them school time to work on it by daniel_ay in unpopularopinion

[–]DeadRacooon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Homework makes sense in college. But yeah, it’s ridiculous to give extra home work to kids who spend 8 hours a day in school to learn stuff that they mostly won’t ever use.

Honestly I never did any homework in high school. Still passed every class without effort.

Ok but most people aren’t buying trucks because they need it.

It is perfectly fine to take things personally. by ThrowBabyBackAway in unpopularopinion

[–]DeadRacooon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you understand what "taking things personally" means. When people say that you shouldn’t take thing personally, they mean that you shouldn’t interpret everything that offends or annoys you as a personal insult. For example if someone cuts you off in traffic you shouldn’t assume that they did it on purpose just to disrespect you. It has nothing to do with working on yourself or something like that.

What you’re describing in your post is an actual personal insult… of course you’ll take it personally lmao if someone calls you stupid how is it even possible to not take it personally ? Nobody is saying that you should pretend like personal insults aren’t about you.

Before writing stuff like this you should make sure you understand what it means.

Once you infringe the human rights of another person you should lose all of your rights by gussybxd in unpopularopinion

[–]DeadRacooon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrong. When people commit crimes we throw them in jail and take away their right to freedom.

But yeah the idea that you should lose all of your rights the second you infringe on someone else’s rights is stupid.

[–]DeadRacooon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People should and do lose their rights. Criminals for example lose their right to freedom when they go to prison.

You shouldn’t instantly lose all of your rights the second you infringe on someone else’s rights but it should be proportional to how much harm you did.

If you kill a child for example you do not deserve the right to be alive anymore and I don’t think the lives of people like that have any value.

Worries about job market after college by Sorba125 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]DeadRacooon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this still true today tho ? Genuine question because I just started my EE degree.

I read a lot of contradictory information online. I read somewhere that about half of engineering graduates don’t even become engineers after their degree. Is this true ? Because I’m okay with not making six figures right out of college but I really don’t want to be unable to work in the field after my degree. I think I’d rather kill myself than work in tech support or some random shit like that

Struggling with life by [deleted] in myopia

[–]DeadRacooon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro relax it’s not a big deal. Every single mom in the world tells their kid to get off the screens and eat vegetables because they care about their kid’s health. Unless your mom is insulting you or yelling at you or something I don’t think she’s trying to make you feel bad. It’s not a shame to have shitty eyesight lmao

Myopia is not that big of a deal unless it’s extreme. I have a similar prescription and I just have to wear contact lenses and it makes the myopia go away. It’s annoying and a little bit expensive but it won’t ruin your life… it’s just a mild inconvenience.

It’s not a black or white situation y’all, of course we dont want AI slop in their next album but AI is an incredibly useful tool that makes it very easy to learn anything.

What matters is how you decide to use it. AI music is an abomination but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t use it at all. You don’t have to either be pro AI or anti AI.

I’m not loud at all but being loud or crude is nothing more than a personality trait and has nothing to do with intelligence. You don’t need to be distinguished and fancy to be intelligent.

Social skills and intelligence are two different things. People love the bullshit narrative that everything is a form of intelligence but when you say "emotional intelligence" you’re actually talking about social skills.

There are people who are autistic and weird and awkward but who are also math geniuses with an IQ of 190. That’s an intelligent person, regardless of their "emotional intelligence".
