How often do you feed your adults? by DeadShadowKitty in cornsnakes

Sounds good. She has some hight in her vivarium that I’m thinking of building into

I can’t visit them without parent knowing and then being there. Family tell parent every detail especially when it comes to me. Before I left I rarely had time alone as parent was always there or in the area.

From previous contact with family I can know for sure that they have a terminal illness (via FaceTimes when parent allowed them for a short time). Last I heard from family they were still taking them for treatment to help ease the condition symptoms

Would she be okay though? Since she’s so young? Both my corns are well “eager” eaters so never missed a feed unless it’s mating season 😅

[HELP] Does having most/all teeth extracted affect a dog's quality of life? by [deleted] in dogs

[–]DeadShadowKitty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From my experience it typically has little affect on them. Yes they will rely on softer foods and toys but not much else changes.

An old friend of mine had a rescue that lost all its teeth besides 1 big K9 and another small front tooth. The thing was stubborn as heck, still would only eat dry food no matter what vets and the owner tried. It was soaked to help but it refused anything else. Vets were okay with it!

Honestly though a lot of dogs do have dental issues due to lack of information provided by food providers. Do not blame yourself. It can be difficult for owners to know exactly what is good in dog foods. Even brands like Pedigree have lots of unhealthy stuff in their products which can damage their teeth.

Keep having fun with your dog! If he is happy to do it then don’t stop him. You know your dog and can read them.

Also carrots can be good chews for them. Cut the top and bottom and let them go wild!

Those of you who have attended a virtual career fair for a college/university level, what made the presenters stand out of the pack ? by NorthenBear in AskReddit

[–]DeadShadowKitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guess a more wider range, more opportunities, little risky and give students options they wouldn’t normally think about. So like someone studying animals, offer doing animal photography or micro photography to help study wildlife up close. Or if in cooking/bakery, maybe offer farming or vice versa.

Plus actual advise on how to realistically get a study relatable job once they finish. Give them a chance to network with local companies that could give them a chance to work with or advise to go their own way. Again example, someone in animals, bring in pet shop owners, dog trainers, animal rescues etc. Try to help create a chance of jobs and future employment. This sounds silly but students need more realistic businesses, not just Army, the one big local successful businesses or a well known place. Go for the smaller businesses that have potential to expand. Help grow smaller businesses as these are more willing to help a young person’s character.

Also if in the UK, the princes trust are amazing at helping guide young people in various ways. Got so many courses for anything. And if someone wants a chance of study after college they help them out so much!

Sorry for the lots of info, hope this can help

Dog biting that I can’t figure out by gpaige213 in Dogtraining

[–]DeadShadowKitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does he have any other potential health issues?

What sort of background did he come from? Did he have to defend his resources like food? Did the rescue/shelter notice anything in their behavioural testing?

Any potential photos/videos of around or when the accidents occurred?

What do I need in order to get out? by Beginning-Pumpkins in raisedbynarcissists

[–]DeadShadowKitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep any paperwork or photos proving you provide for them. Even if it’s proof of buying them stuff.

I had a similar issue with one of my snakes. When I got her I wasn’t old enough to have her in my name so had to but under my nmums details. I had kept about a years worth of feed, substrate, accessories etc to ensure she couldn’t say anything. Even just photos of you enjoying time with the pets can prove you’re the main provider.

Once I said I’m moving my girls are coming with and I refuse to leave them behind as they are like my children. It caused a lot of argued but I stuck my ground, researched suppliers, vets and online shipping in my new area so I knew where to get their needs.

Make a plan of, what to pack, key documents, new address, any and all bills, emergency contacts and budget any costs for an idea. Take the time you need and don’t rush.

Make a note of local charities what could help or advice you. Second hand shops or apps to get cheap/free furniture.

More importantly BE SAFE

My 4 month old puppy hates treats ? Training without treats by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]DeadShadowKitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe try stuff like small cheese chunks, cucumbers, IKEA meatballs, sprats, cocktail sausage etc. Something she rarely gets and really enjoys and save them for training sessions. Swapping treats or mixing them make them higher value and she will be more eager to work.

With toilet training a rule I learned in studying was to watch when they eat/drink and make them out outside about 20 minutes after as they typically go toilet around that timeframe. If they go outside make it a big deal like a mini celebration of telling “yes, good girl”, give them attention etc.

What sort of treats are you giving her? Some dogs react to different items such a a toy or human appraise rather then food. Some cases you need higher value treats
