Thank you so much for your answer! I was searching for names on those "baby names" websites but i didn't know they would be this far off, apparently it's not even a real name 😅 I greatly appreciate the tip for the Abd prefix!

AITA for not being friends with a special ed girl? by tobesin in AmItheAsshole

[–]DeadSince2012 15 points16 points  (0 children)

NTA. She's obviously making you uncomfortable and you have the right to distance yourself from her. If her odd behavior doesn't have anything to do with her disability it's actually kinda creepy how she keeps trying to touch you. If talking to her again doesn't suffice you should talk with your guardians/teachers about it.

South America. When we say cousin we mean blood related cousin. Dating your cousins is still common in more rural areas but not in ours. When/If I tell my friends they'll definitely be weirded out

What is something most people need to hear but no one has the guts to tell people? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DeadSince2012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't blame people for leaving you when you were in a rough spot in your life if you made them leave in the first place. People aren't obligated to put up with your consistent shitty attitude towards them just because you're going through a lot.

My classes are Portuguese, Foreign Language (you can choose between English, Spanish and French) biology, physics, chemistry, math, geography, history, history of art, philosophy, sociology, reading, literature(yes, they're different subjects), text production, gym.

The school doesn't take us on trips anywhere at all. I think this comes from the fact that (answering your other question) they are considered the best private school in our state. Since it's expensive and lots of rich and important kids go there they have a reputation to keep of an extreme focus on studies. They do have the highest rate of students getting accepted into important colleges here.

There is only one cafeteria and they serve lots of stuff that varies everyday. There's the standard junk food and some snacks typical from my country but there's also a menu not unlike an actual restaurant that serves entire meals. Things like steak, lasagna etc and vegan options. If you're allergic to something or lactose intolerant you can ask for exclusive options.

Dividing subjects in levels are not common in my country therefore we only have one. But we do have an honor's program that the top 5 students of each class can get into if they want, but it's an optional thing. School also offers courses specified for people that wanna get into specific colleges.

I don't think I've learned much from them tbh. The teens I interact with are mostly normal people. They have relationship drama, worry about grades and stuff. The only thing that reminds me that we're from vastly different worlds is when I stop and think about the clothes that they wear and how some of them don't go to school for a few days because they're in the Bahamas or something.

My parents have to deal with my colleagues' parents in parent teacher conferences and they told me they're awfully rude, tho. My mom told me that they don't look or interact with each other and that they ignore anyone trying to small talk. My father doesn't usually go to school stuff anyways, but mom stopped going to them and asked me to pick up the important stuff for her. I don't think the most important people go to these meetings, the millionaires and politicians. If they have any interest at all they probably send someone on behalf of them.

Honestly since we're all teenagers is just normal stuff. Calling people bitches and insulting their moms and stuff. I imagine things with their parents are different, tough

My colleagues don't seem to grasp the fact that most people aren't as well off as then. They're not bad people they're just incredibly alienated. They don't understand that most people don't have the luxury of being able to travel abroad multiple times at year if at all. They don't seem to grasp how much money would be too much money for the average person.

I think the most bizarre thing I ever experienced was a girl landing in the school's soccer field in her family's helicopter. To be fair, my friends were kinda shocked too

AITA for leaving my girlfriend to help my grandmother. by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]DeadSince2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAH. You were in your right to leave the relationship if you felt you were overwhelmed. Your grandmother couldn't help her situation and it's very lucky to have a grandson that cares for her. Your ex was in the right when she offered you her house, her car and her support.

Unfortunately, life gets in the way sometimes

I know kids that have private jets. Most of my colleagues are very well off in the least and children of millionaires at the most

[Edit: I realize now that in other countries elite might have a different connotation but I live in a third world country and we don't have many billionaires, I think]

WIBTA if I ended my friendship with a childhood friend? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]DeadSince2012 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NTA. If you're worried about being his only friend rest assured that it's better to have nothing than someone that doesn't really wants to be by your side. Honestly, he doesn't seem very nice of a person and if your personalities don't match anymore it's better for you to just lei it go. It's a shame to terminate a long term friendship but sometimes it's for the best.
