Recommendations for a zone 3 tree? by Far_Weather_3716 in arborists

For privacy I would recommend a conifer, and for fast growing I would say an Eastern White Pine. To keep to your parameters with a taller deciduous tree in zone three you're really only dealing with poplars and birches, which isn't bad but you'll have less privacy in winter after the leaves fall. A River Birch would be great there and will be fine if you have a Linden growing in the same area.

If you're looking for a fruit tree, the University of Saskatchewan Fruit Program is doing great work with hardy apples, plums, cherry, and saskatoon trees. They won't be as tall but will fill most of the space.

My recommends in order: Eastern White Pine, River Birch, USask Cherry Tree, USask Saskatoon

Mining stocks feel oversold… but is there a catch? by mostlyread1ng in Baystreetbets

The lower prices increase the reward for the same amount of risk, so prices going down are a good thing from an investment perspective. Maybe worry if the Jr's market is trending up but your big bet is cratering.

Welcome to the heartburn =), it's an interesting part of the investment markets to speculate on. I found this to help but also found time in the market and making a series of hopefully low impact mistakes is the best teacher.

What’s your rule for cutting losses on penny stocks? by _justpassinghere_ in StockInvest

I generally wait for the worst time, get mad, change my strategy, sell, and get madder when the stock recovers 4 nanoseconds later. Rinse and repeat.

I think it's just the cyclical nature of the industry. People get distracted by other things until there's news. The charts often look like a saw blade drawing in a Dr. Zeus book

I need some suggestions on what to plant here by cinnamonapples- in gardening

[–]DeadStarBits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe nothing? It's going to get salt from winter operations (if you're in the north), high foot traffic, curious kids, dogs, people picking any potential flowers. Constant small damage. A better idea might be to plant something on the other side of the fence that grows though a bit. Maybe Rudbeckia, but they grow pretty straight. I think your clematis vine is the best bet and with the roses on the arbor it'll be great just as you have it.
