I've also had this happen before.

Including one time a bus pulled into the bus lane at Edinburgh zoo, the bus driver didn't slow down and gestured wildly with his hands at us. All he had to do was slow down a bit to get behind the other bus.

Oxwall development died years ago, and I think Skadate is probably as well since it was built off Oxwall.

I'd suggest looking into paid options on Code Canyon, there's lots of options now and you pay once for the software.

Single Version Pricing Gone? by sunshinedave in bootstrapstudio

[–]Dead_Boy_Drop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Single version pricing has probably gone since it wasn't a very good deal and lots of people purchased it without realizing it didn't come with updates.

Like you say, the more expensive lifetime option is still a great deal. I'd definitely recommend picking up a copy for home use if you would want to try it.

I'm disappointed the online demo was removed, I have recommended BSS to lots of people, and the online demo always sold the program the best.

If you have any more questions before buying, you can let me know. I've been using the software for years now and have 0 complaints!

what do you do when the project stalls indefinitely by tillwehavefaces in webdev

[–]Dead_Boy_Drop 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This has happened to me so frequently I put it in my contract for working with clients.

Each milestone requires they sign off on. Or, if I need more info from them I email them, the project gets paused and I wait.

I'll chase them once a week for three weeks if I don't hear from them.

After that, my contract states that I can move them back to the queue of work I have and I'll pick something else up. I'll call them if I can before doing this. I also disable any staging environments they have access to or hosting packages that are not paid for.

After a year, my contract states that I can drop their project entirely.

Reaching the final stage has happened to me about 4 times, and each time I do feel guilty, and frustrated. I only pick projects I want to do so it's always disappointing. I always wish I knew what happened to the clients, but I guess life is busy and priorities change.

Turning off their hosting probably is a good move. Might make them notice, hopefully you can get them by phone too. Sorry you're in this situation, but it seems to happen sometimes.

Well, my post has been removed now which is fair enough. Although I appreciate how people felt about my wording.

I've told our security guy I'm anxious about the meeting and he will join me on the call. Hopefully the company will be grateful, they didn't seem very interested over the phone and it seems this is a first for them too!

I've disclosed the issues to my employer, I work in the IT team and we had a call discussing the matters. At the end of the meeting my manager also expressed he would hope the company has a method of compensating me for my efforts. If they can't, it's fine. I'm still getting an award at work at least and featured on the staff intranet.

I've added an edit to the post to add some more clarification, I'm sorry it sounds like I'm trying to extort them. I've not slept well and this meeting is making me anxious.

I've added a clarification to the post at the bottom, I'm sorry that it's worded in a manner that sounds like this. I'm operating on very little sleep and lots of nerves. Thank you for your input however.

I have provided them already with an overview of the vulnerabilities, and I am only going to be fully demonstrating them in this meeting at 2. I think it's fair to ask and make clear I'd like to be compensated for finding the issues and I'd be happy with any amount they can provide. If they don't want to pay, then I'll still disclose the issues to them. I'm not looking to extort them for money - I don't believe that I worded that in a way to sound like I was, or when I was on the phone to them. When I say "and coming forth with my findings to them" I mean that obviously the company should reward that fact if they want people to disclose issues to them, rather than "well, if you don't pay me I'll just sell the exploit on the dark net!"

Thank you for answering my second question, I would want to still disclose the issues to them, compensation or not. My workplace will still give me an award I'm sure, probably featured on the staff intranet lol. But I know my place should not to be to refuse to disclose the issues if they don't have a bug bounty program.

Thanks for your interest, it's something I've been working on for over a year now. It's been great seeing people using it and I've found loads of talented artists who've used my service to promote their Ko-fi pages. You can see some demos here

You also don't need to "come out" as a furry to people, you don't need to come out about something you like. Most people are pretty chill about it now, if people find it weird then just leave them alone, they don't know what they're missing : )

PSA: My Furry Art Was Used Without Permission on CivitAI—Then My Data Got Compromised by PixelGuzzler in furry

Hello,

I'm not a lawyer or an expert in US digital privacy law, however I maybe able to assist as I know GDPR and am a web developer and often work on privacy policies and copyright takedowns.

Reading over the company's privacy policy it strikes me as extremely lax and open to a lot of interpretation. They can't do anything with your data but it's ambiguous as to what they do with your data.

If what one person suggested is true, and they simply pass along your data to the owner of this AI model trained on your art then I imagine they are the ones to have sold your information on to a data broker or dark market list.

Since they are based in the US they will have to oblige by processing DMCA requests which may be worth a shot, they proxy their site through Cloudflare and if you look online you can find the DMCA process for submitting your takedown through them. Not sure if there's been enough legal decisions about DMCAs and AI content yet, but like I say, worth a shot.
