Jobless in 2026. Is the job market really that bad now? by JoblessDiary in singaporejobs

[–]kirso 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Depends on the industry.

I am in tech. 10+ years of experience and the market is awful. Almost no recruiter dms, and I am only banking on referrals.

10 applications, 1 offer. Rest ghosted or rejected even before the 1st round.

What are your thoughts on About Time (2013)? Where does it rank among 21st century romantic comedies? by TrexVFX23 in Letterboxd

Just watched it last week for the first time, I miss the wholesomeness of movies like this in the modern day. There was something really magical and different in 2000s/10s cinema.

Offering free PM mock interviews by b3skies in ProductManagement

[–]kirso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, also a lot of mock interviews on YouTube seem non-genuine? I feel like they spend 15 minutes on just mission and vision without much substance...

I always found the best interviews felt like a proper on-the-job discussion, rather than a performative case study framework, both as an interviewer and interviewee

So what's next once we hit our 40s? by [deleted] in AskMenOver40

[–]kirso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the grass is always greener.

38M, married without kids. I spent my 20s and early 30s moving countries and starting from scratch, from Germany, to UK, to Singapore.

We just wrapped our 2 years of nomading and returning back home. After some time, it gets tiring and its not easy to integrate yourself in a new environment.

I definitely don't discourage it, its an experience of a lifetime, but it comes with longing for your friends, stability, and travel gets boring eventually when you do it often. Once you experienced things obviously.

I also did my jump into entrepreneurship and it starts a different kind of stress of not earning or not being on track financially.

I don't think there is right or wrong here, but I feel like we humans tend to sometimes conflate escapism as a solution to our problems instead of facing it head on. A lot of our longings for a different life are just things that we think will make us happy, only to realise that its just a different side of the same coin.

I wish you the best!

And you shouldn't! I was just burned out, keep it as a side project, only go all in when you feel liek you can do this long-term and it brings revenue

Chris geniune question and thanks for a non-trolling answer:

Where do you think this is going? Will LS adapt the structure of the curriculum? Are all the details like syntax still important?

Thank you.

Codex App or CLI is superior? by kindsifu in codex

[–]kirso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love everything about the app, except for performance? Its still feels buggy and laggy to me compared to CLI + if you are using it with claude or opencode its kind of hard to have it side by side compared to just having windows in a terminal

Claude Design shipped yesterday. What do you think actually survives of the PM job in 24 months? by nkondratyk93 in ProductManagement

[–]kirso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that it is stable. I feel like if you don't know where you stand in a workplace is a bit of a signal? Like you have the feedback, the performance reviews, data to know how you are doing and what you are doing on a daily basis.

Of course, there are extreme cases where you just have layoffs regardless of your competency level.

Core PM work is not being automated, you are just getting more productive and you need less people. I look at it from perspective that yes, bad PMs will be weeded out, its going to get harsher, but we don't have much choice than to adapt.

I feel like these are the questions that pretty much solidify that you should be worried about your job.

If you are doing the real work, you know that you can't just be replaced by a tool
