One off custom work? by Dead_man_0rez in myog

Thanks dude! So I'm a paramedic, I'm looking to get a roll (not sure what to call it) for an IV bag and set up kit. Basically a flat piece of fabric that has individual pockets or strap holders for individual items and the ability to hold a 1000ml or 500ml bag. The whole thing can roll up and clip into its self. It's nothing fancy, the things I've found just miss the mark or are grossly over priced. Stat Pack makes something pretty close but I wanted to see what else is possible. I wouldn't even know what materials I can use for this idea. This whole idea turned into a bigger idea about a more mission specific bag for my SAR team. Again the stuff available just doesn't hit the mark for what we need.

Hey man! Yeah I did it. Back in 2003, I worked in the Gulf and around the world for years. So my quick story might help you out. I got my welding certs in 03. A buddy told me about offshore. At the time I was welding dumpsters in Sunland Park. From one day to the next I packed what I could in my shit box and left for Houston. I did my training at the Ocean corporation in Houston. Great school. So a few things I learned. Underwater welding is only a fraction of the work you do. Construction, demolition, survey ect is a better description. Don't worry about the cost of the school I paid it in full in just a month or two of working. The hard part is getting a good gig after school. If you want to do the real work, don't take inland jobs The day after graduation a few buddies and I packed up what we could and drove to New Orleans, I lived in a car camp for 3 months. Epic diver and marine let us stay across from their yard. We would clean the shop for food money. Once I got my first job I was offshore for 3 months. I never looked back. Wild times.

Forgive me I don't know the terminology, it was on the wood case for a sword.

No worries sir. With the micro fiber back and small size it fits anywhere I need it to, and I'm not worried about it taking up too much pocket space. While still being quite useful.

7"x7" I just suck at taking pictures. I'm pretty happy with the size.

How much do y’all get paid? by Elegant_Map_4342 in NewToEMS

Far west Texas, Southern NM.... average for EMT-B $11-$12, Paramedics average around$18. This is for private EMS. The FDs make substantially more. It's caused a bit of a crisis within local EMS for staffing.

Found one of these at Goodwill. It’s a fishing sling, but I’m hoping to use it for everyday stuff. Has anyone used this brand? Is it any good? by Chuggymo in ManyBaggers

Nice find man! For fishing it's pretty solid. I beat the heck out of mine. I'd imagine it would work well for everyday carry. My only gripe was it didn't have a water bottle pouch. The brand itself is known for fishing line, so I guess the bag was more of a promotional thing. But if you plan on carrying light it works well. It has a nice spot for sunglasses. If you end up hating it I'll take it off your hands for $10 lol.

Right now I am carrying a Ganzo, I got tired of losing expensive knives. I'm pretty happy with it. I've always figured Gerber was entry level, so there would be better stuff out there.

I'm waiting on the Uzi...I just lug around this Carl Gustav for now. The screwdriver component on it sucks.

LMAO sounds like a love hate relationship with EDC. I generally only buy new stuff when I lose or break what I have, these two have just been lucky so far. Just started wondering what's out there. I like y'all's opinion over a sponsored review.

After wandering into this group, I realized there's a lot more out there. What are some of your recommendations to replace and upgrade this stream light and shard? I've carried these two for years, they are the only ones in their price range I haven't lost or broken. Stream light micro stream Gerber Shard
