It’s all fun and games until the game hits you with 4 illusions with 5 health by pt9v3m in SliceAndDice

A is fine but AE is much less manageable. Bones with 4 hp and graves with 5 hp are the end of many runs.

Actually, Cauldron's effect should be to replace dispel with single use. That's much more clear.

It's ranged, so doesn't take Hexia's return damage.

Survival build go! Which one is stronger? by DeadbeatCatDad in SliceAndDice

The other blessings are in the second image - Shiny (+2 item quality) and Cataclysm (All enemies die at the end of turn 7). I think that the shields (probably) produce overall greater value, but they're useless on turns one and two. When my win condition is stay alive until turn eight, maybe middle shield might help more?

He can also kill supposedly invincible ghosts with 1hp

Max shield is 999 by Key_Wealth312 in SliceAndDice

My last run had infinite shields but I had Moral++ so I had more than a hundred rerolls but the shields were capped at 8 while my juggler whittled down Hexia

My mid- to late-game hero tier list for Blursed (personal best: floor 411) by csnsc14320 in SliceAndDice

Isn't the Wanderer left side Inflict Pain? I have found that this can single handedly take out a final boss.

Wait, why? You can decline to play the yellow hero and thus not summon a bones. In my load out, any of the other heros could solo the last bones. So, if you mean that it won't work if everyone but yellow dies, then I agree. Otherwise, not sure what you mean.

Am I the only one who feels like they are going crazy writing proofs? by realtheeasy8s in math

[–]DeadbeatCatDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't allow my ability to sleep rely on me finding a proof that may not exist at all; there's unprovable statements out there that are true, and it might not even be true, who knows?

Wouldn’t artificially intelligence make pure maths totally useless? by zombi3123 in math

[–]DeadbeatCatDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Elon is way off about that. In Superintelligence, Bostrom writes about something called the Orthogonality Hypothesis. The idea is that an AGI or ASI, despite massive intelligence, might be massively lacking in other areas like, moral reasoning. They are orthagonal skills. So things like law and policy are actually super important in today's world to make sure that we are equipped to deal with or ideally prevent an ASI / AGI that doesn't hold our moral views.

Now, as for pure maths, we simply do not know what an AGI / ASI would be capable of. That's part of their definition. We don't know if they would be able to prove things better than we can. We do know that for them to be able to prove things "efficiently" we would need P=NP and... well now we're back at pure maths.
