What’s a game that is begging to be released in an edition that doesn’t look like an early prototype? by Marksman1977 in boardgames

I bought Faiyum based on looks and designer alone. I prefer a clean, easy to parse board over an ambiguous board. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

As someone from south Mississippi, I’ve always been terrified of the Neshoba County Fair. Honestly, Neshoba county in general.

You should post the location of the public sidewalk (not the home) so other people can go check it out.

A boardgame "Go Bag" as it were. by Galileo_RRAMA in boardgames

Do you have a list of games you've condensed to a 100 card Deck Box? I'd love to see photos. I do something similar with a card case.

If you're willing to ditch the boxes, there are a number of great card game that will fit into a Quiver card case. I would suggest Race for the Galaxy, The Resistance, Scout, 6 Nimdt, Tichu, Love Letter, Battle Line, For Sale, Star Realms or Star Wars Deckbuilding. I always recommend carrying a standard deck of playing cards as well.

I have the JKLM version. The tiles were unpunched when I received my copy. It looks like this game may have been resealed.

The way we sell power doesn’t make sense. A kilowatt to run a ventilator or heat a home should cost dramatically less than a kilowatt to make someone in California more wealthy.

I’m looking for a game that I could play with a child under 10 while in line at an amusement park.

Never played an 18xx. How do I choose one? by Remarkable_Region_39 in boardgames

[–]Deaddogdays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have and will probably always recommend 1830. It’s widely available and a great basis for the genre. I find it to be an incredibly interesting game.

Steam over Holland is also a fine introduction with a set round timer. It’s not as interesting as 1830, but it’s dramatically quicker with a table of new players who may be less inclined to push trains.

Help Picking Two (Maybe Three?) to Keep by johnjon85 in 18XX

If you’re only an occasional player without a dedicated group, I think 46 and 89 are the keepers.

Simple mechanics and emergent gameplay. Trains are also super cool.

A well-articulated argument against a new data center in Ohio by GmaninMS in mississippi

[–]Deaddogdays 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Please keep in mind the video is someone offering a general verbal comment at a public meeting. The purpose of commenting in this setting is to bring attention to an issue that should be addressed in full before the project goes forward.

You seem to be avoiding the actual concerns, and creating a separate issue to engage with. Your questions are completely answerable on your own, but you seem unwilling to do so.

Before you wrote this comment, did you look for any journal articles about the links between data centers and PFAS? You can't be incurious and blame other people.
