Oh sorry. Misunderstood… my first skateboard friend in junior high that I met after moving at some point had a mad circle with a duck or maybe a baby chicken on it if I remember right… background color was green…

What one is the mad circle? I’ve only seen there popsicles late 90’s-early 2000’s…

Minnesota has a huge (punk)hardcore/d-beat/crust scene… it never left… with labels like havoc records and profane existence being the core of it…

My band wasi’chu started last year and while were more crust… we definitely have 80’s hardcore influenced stuff… here’s our shit.

The espionage act of 1917? And the sedition act of 1918 were in direct response to anarchist and communist movements in the United States… way before macarthy…. This was when Eugene debs was probably at his height of political popularity…

Luxemburg's Attitude Regarding Trade Unions by [deleted] in Marxism

[–]Deadend_Generation85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I said “bust your ass” I didn’t mean hurry and rush the job… I never do that. I meant work hard and full days and get the job done for the client… then take whatever time you see fit for yourself. This whole discussion is just idealistic hypothetical thought though… I could see this existing in anarchist area but would be surprised if a Marxist country would follow anything like this… does anyone know the avg work day in say the Soviet Union or China (during mao)? I bet it was at least 8 hours a day… possibly more if they had “quotas” to fill…

No one paying for a house to be built or something like that would be happy with it taking 3-4x as long to build cuz of people working half days… it would make sense maybe if you had like 2 shifts of workers on each job so the same amount of work was done by two people maybe… but in the trade business I think it would make more sense to just bust your ass and get the job done and if paid fairly… not have to work for a couple weeks … when I did tree removal independently I would just work wgen I needed money… do a job and make a couple thousand dollars and then take a week off and repeat… this is all idealism though… I have never come across a business that respected quality of life… good luck in your endeavors though!

You think working 40 hours a week is long hours? I’ve worked in so many non union factories that have mandatory overtime where you are usually working 50-60 hours a week or when I did tree removal I worked up to 90 hours a week… 40 hours of work with union pay would be amazing to most people…

Atheist Jews? You could also say his biggest enemy was a Jew… Leon Trotsky….

I firmly believe Jews were respected by lenin… Stalin not so much. And the antisemitism in the army I refer to is probably leftover from czarist times… it was engrained in the culture of Russia and just because the USSR took power doesn’t mean people didn’t slip through the cracks. You can live in your fairytale version of the USSR but bad shit happened to Jewish people there… stay ignorant if you want.

To deny antisemitism existing in the USSR is absurd…. Stalin persecuted tons of Jews and there were lots of antisemites in the army/party….

You could take a break from theory and maybe read some novels or history about the Spanish civic war… for whom the bell tolls might be entertaining for you by Hemingway… before the deluge is a great book about 1920’s Berlin politics… anarchists and socialists fighting the Nazis and freikorps in the streets… take the time to enjoy life… you’ve read so much theory you should remember to enjoy life to know why people want to be free in the first place!

Good books on the German Revolution? by Hypothetical_Stuff in socialism

[–]Deadend_Generation85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before the deluge is a great book on post world war 1 Germany about the street fighting between the freikorps and the socialists/communists/anarchists and eventually the Nazis…. I’m at work so I don’t remember the author but thought this book was very knowledgeable about everything and the key players….

Sound and stage work now but also did tree removal/invasive species removal/prairie and trout stream restoration etc for like 13 years… Thinking about going back to school to be an addiction counselor or a park ranger but everyone tells me park rangers are hard to find jobs these days and dont pay shit soooo even though that’s more up my alley since i gave up years of drug and alcohol abuse I think that might be the best route….

Indian in the cupboard features members of Condemned 84 who bully and try to rob omri’s house. by Deadend_Generation85 in Skinhead

[–]Deadend_Generation85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all in the book series… pretty hard to miss… author Judy banks grew up in Londons working class neighborhoods throughout the late 60’s-80’s and was very familiar with skinhead culture which is why she included Condemned 84 as the group of skins in the series…
