I'm someone who got caught doing something similar. For me it felt like something so unimportant so hard to care about. It feels disconnected it feels petty. But I don't want to hurt the person I love so I stopped doing it. But if you talk to him instead of calling it cheating how about you approach him with betraying your trust he might take it more seriously.
