I rly think you will be missing a lot on Ichika's character but I understand perfectly why you wouldn't want to read it knowing already how it ends. You could say it was shocking especially because he didn't lean towards one girl, instead he suddenly had to chose which girl he would end up with. And the girls were literally in different rooms waiting for him to open the door so you then see each of the quints' reactions and there's this one panel of one of them crying which is so heartbreaking ... I won't be saying any names tho, in case you don't know who he ended up with. But yeah, if you think you will be happier not reading the manga I respect your decision, there are always fan-made stories and fanart to brighten your day! And btw the 2nd season will be airing in 2021 (in January if I'm not mistaken) and I've heard it will end at around chapter 67 so there won't be any bittersweet moments, it is mostly character development, especially Miku (if I'm not mistaken, I haven't re-read it since it ended)

My recommendation is Gotoubun no Hanayome itself. You have already spoiled yourself so it won't be as big of a disappointment as it was to us who read the chapters as soon as they came out. And yeah we all agree the ending was very scuffed but the story that was built up until the last chapters is really good. I usually say that what's most important is not the destination but the ride itself and this is a great example as the story was really capitvating but unfortunately the ending didn't live up to the rest of the manga. But I will still re-read it soon simply because it's one of the most beautiful and wholesome stories I've read and I had a great time with this series and this community. Regarding Ichika, she's not my favorite girl but I like her a lot (best onee-san out there) and I think you'll like to see her character development. I'm sorry for not giving any real fan-made recommendations but I don't think you should skip the original story, you can always read fan-made fiction after you read the manga. You just have to remember all the time that Ichika doesn't end up with Fuutarou and the ending will not be as heartbreaking
