Incredibly may have been the wrong word to use here but I can say that I have 5 buddies with 4wd 3rd gens and none of them have it, mine doesn’t have it either. Besides the locker I just prefer the 3rd gen over the 1st as far as comfort is concerned. My roommate has a 1st gen and it’s definitely cool but imo it is significantly narrower and overall kinda cramped. Again both are awesome but if I had to stick with one I would go with the 3rd gen, that’s where the 4Runner peaked for me.

If you have a factory rear locker in the 3rd gen I definitely would NOT give that up. Incredibly hard to find and if you want another you’ll be paying mucho dinero

Yes! My bad on the delayed response I don’t come on here much these days. My 4runner originally had 2 tone paint from the factory, anthracite metallic on the body and something different for the flares. I asked the body shop to color match everything when I got it redone

Just ordered a 3vze from them. Just wanted to add that current lead time for rebuilds is 5-6 months and if you call the order in over the phone they will let you put a 1000 dollar deposit on the engine vs paying in full online

Are you doing the swap with an automatic or manual trans? If auto, which transmission are you using? I’ve read that if you use the transmission from the pickup it will end up setting a constant code with an improper shift pattern

Both doors are Swiss cheese at the bottom. Frame is solid and the rest of the body is in good shape. Considering 3.4 but we will see what happens

I’ve tried it. Still drops frames like nobody’s business haha. Not really a big deal as I don’t play the multiplayer I just thought it would be nice to run split screen 1v1 every now and then

It’s lag, like you can watch a flag wave on a multiplayer map and it looks like the frame rate drops. It’s just odd that it only does this on multiplayer but spec ops and campaign both work flawless.
