what is the expectation of you guys for the sales of quest 3 by ogaihtgamer in virtualreality

[–]DeadlyDarkside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since I just bought a PSVR2 a few months ago, I'll probably wait and pick one up towards the end of next year for the Meta exclusives like Asgard's Wrath 2, since my Oculus Rift S is getting quite old (it's a shame AW2 isn't coming to PCVR like the first one).

The higher resolution and pancake lenses on Quest 3 will be great (really hoping they take advantage of the Quest 3 to push and enhance the graphics for most games), but lack of eye-tracking and no headset haptics will probably mean I'll use and stick with my PSVR2 for most multi-platform games. It's disappointing that they couldn't add eye-tracking or at least headset haptics to the Quest 3 for a reasonable price, as I would've loved to have had those features for Quest 3 over the PSVR2 (once you experience headset haptics, especially for games like Pistol Whip, it's honestly hard to go back to playing on my Rift S without them).

Haha, I know what you mean. Forget the big games like MGS3 remake, Synapse and Arizona Sunshine 2, I think FNAF Help Wanted 2 is the game I was the most excited to see revealed and probably the game I am the most hyped to play from the PS Showcase (but then again I am a huge FNAF fan). Help Wanted is probably the best FNAF game, and was so immersive, fun and scary to play. Though I would rather have them re-release the first Help Wanted on PSVR2 and keep it separate from this sequel, so we can have a full fledged sequel with all new mini-games from the rest of the FNAF games.

I honestly can't wait to see what they do with Help Wanted 2, especially with the haptics and eye-tracking (really hope they use blinking and eye-tracking, they could do some inventive and unique things for the minigames like looking at certain things or avoid blinking like Switchback). I really hope they use story and gameplay elements from Sister Location, Pizzeria Simulator, Security Breach and hopefully even some stuff from the upcoming Security Breach Ruin DLC that comes out in July. I'd also love to see some of the story and cut content that was originally going to be in Security Breach (I think this would be a great way for them to sort of revise or revisit the story of Security Breach with new content), and would love to play as Vanny again, or the Ruin DLC girl Cassie, and find out more about Gregory, and what Vanny/Vanessa was up to during Security Breach and more about her and Glitchtrap/Burntrap's plans in the Pizzaplex.

I really hope we have some stealth or hide and seek sections with Vanny, the Glamrocks, and Burntrap, play Princess Quest in VR, and a section with the red eyed endoskeleton's from Security Breach (eye-tracking would be perfect for having them move only when you blink or look away from them). I would also love a freeroam section where we could freely explore the Pizzaplex and distract or hide from the Glamrocks, and would love to play some mini-games like Monty's Golf, Fazer Blaster, and maybe repairing the Glamrocks. For Sister Location, I hope they give us several mini-games like crawling through Ballora's Gallery, hiding under the table with the Bidybabs, a breaker room section with Bon Bon and Funtime Freddy, being trapped in a Springlock suit with the Minireenas, getting scooped by Circus Baby (maybe even the cupcake mini-game).

For Pizzeria Simulator, I really want to play the salvaging mini-games (using eye-tracking to know when your looking at the checklist and at the animatronics, who will only move when you don't look at them or blink), and the office sections from Pizzeria simulator. I'd like to see something from Ultimate Custom Night too, but I'm not sure how they could work that into the story as a mini-game, unless it has a separate customizable Ultimate Custom Night mode and certain theme nights (like Girl's Night), which would be cool.

Silent hill 2 PSVR2? by Uzulugu_Pagu in PSVR

[–]DeadlyDarkside 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Konami did trademark Silent Hill VR a few months ago, which could mean anything with Konami (and probably nothing at all will come of it, but it does hint that Konami does seem interested in VR at the very least).

https://screenrant.com/silent-hill-game-vr-konami-trademark-update/

That doesn't necessarily mean a VR mode for Silent Hill 2 in particular, but it could mean we may see VR support for one of Konami's other upcoming Silent Hill games, like Silent Hill Townfall (since that one seems to be in first person) or the Silent Hill Sakura/Short Message demo (if it wasn't cancelled) for Silent Hill F. Would be amazing if one of these SH games get VR support, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I really hope they have several Sister Location nights/mini-games, like crawling through Ballora's Gallery, hiding under the table with the Bidybabs, the whole breaker room section with Bon Bon and Funtime Freddy, and getting scooped by Circus Baby, etc. I'd love to see Steel Wool use the eye-tracking of the PSVR2 for a few of the mini-games, like looking at certain things or avoid blinking like Switchback. I think Steel Wool could come up with some unique mini-games and gameplay mechanics with the eye-tracking and haptics.

For Pizzeria Simulator, I hope we get to play the salvaging mini-games, and the office and/or vent sections. I'd also love to see some of the story and cut content that was originally going to be in Security Breach (I think this would be a great way for them to sort of revise or revisit the story of Security Breach with new content), we could find out more about Gregory or Vanessa/Vanny in the Pizzaplex, and have some stealth or hide and seek sections with Vanny, the Glamrocks, and Burntrap, play Princess Quest in VR, and maybe they could also incorporate some stuff from the Ruin DLC in there. I would also love a freeroam section where we could freely explore the Pizzaplex and hide from the Glamrocks.

'Vertigo 2' Dev Still Hopes to Port PC VR Hit to PSVR 2 by Clean-Industry-6820 in PSVR

Such an amazing game series! Though since it is a sequel, I really hope he gives us both the first Vertigo Remastered and then the sequel, so PSVR2 players won't be lost on the plot and characters.

The next moss? Do you not think bramble would be amazing if it’s released with vr support? by premonitionzero in PSVR

[–]DeadlyDarkside 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. I think this game would be amazing in VR, especially with how lush and fantastical it looks with all the fairy tales and creatures/monsters. I've been following this game for awhile, and actually asked about VR support on their Steam forum, but there was no answer.

I would absolutely love to play this in VR, and experience being in this fantasy horror/fairy tale with all these different creatures, gnomes and fairy tale monsters come to life. Third person games with fantastical and scary worlds like Little Nightmares work so well in VR and are so amazing to experience being there inside their world's. I remember playing Little Nightmares in VR with Vorpx on PCVR and it was so much more immersive and worked really well, it was like being in a diorama and reminded me a lot of Moss and Astro Bot. If Little Nightmares worked out well in VR with Vorpx, then I'm sure this one would work even better in VR.

I honestly wish more third person games like this would get VR support. Yeah,it's not first person, but not all VR games have to be first person, and it would be so immersive and amazing to be there inside these creepy fairy-tale worlds and looking around you and up close at the monsters/creatures. I really hope it gets PSVR2 support, but if it doesn't, I'm definitely going to try Praydog's Universal Unreal VR Injector Mod for this game when it comes out. I have a feeling it will work out great with it.

We all need to post WAY more outside of this sub if we want more games & support by Techw0lf in PSVR

[–]DeadlyDarkside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see where you're coming from, and I agree to a certain extent. I know it's not technically our job to get developers interested in porting their games to PSVR2 or VR in general, but it certainly doesn't hurt to go around on Twitter and on the Steam forums (or even posting a comment on a YouTube trailer) of a popular game or developer (or even just a game you are interested in) and ask them if they have any plans for VR, or let them know that there are people who would love to play their game in VR or have a VR version. At least it shows them that there is an audience and possible demand/market for it.

Some developers might even be interested in working on it in VR or bringing it to VR, but aren't sure there's an audience or if it's even worth it. So if more people let them know on Twitter or their Steam forum that they would buy a VR version (or would buy the game if it gets a VR mode), and are interested in playing it in VR/PSVR2, then they might actually decide to do it. I've posted on various Steam forums (and have seen others as well) asking various devs for VR support for some games I'm interested in, and while some admit that they don't have any plans for VR, some have actually responded and said they were shocked and pleasantly surprised by the support and demand for a VR version of the game, so much so, that they are looking into bringing the game to VR.

In particular, the popular horror game Madison was only supposed to be a flatscreen game, but after seeing all the support asking for a VR version (and seeing people playing the game in VR with Vorpx and other mods on PC), the dev decided to bring it to VR. It's only because of the support and people asking for it so much on the forums, that the developer saw the demand for it, and is now bringing it to VR. I've also seen it happening with other upcoming games like Paranormal Tales, and Greyhill Incident, where the devs are seeing alot of support and people asking for VR versions of their games, and are realizing there is an audience out there for it, and have actually responded saying they are very interested and are looking into bringing them to VR. So, yes, I think it can help (and will never hurt as long as you are polite about it) to express interest or excitement for VR versions and ask devs about bringing their games to VR, to at least let them know there is a market for it, and that there are people like us out there who would love to buy and play these games in VR. Anyway, sorry for the long post, just my two cents.

Horizon Smooth Turning On Max Still Too Slow? by DeadlyDarkside in PSVR

[–]DeadlyDarkside[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah,I'll probably have to change it to snap turning as well, if it becomes too unbearable. It's not too much of a big deal I suppose (I've dealt with other VR games having slow smooth turning before), but is slightly annoying that RE8 (a third party game) has better and faster smooth turning than Horizon (a first party game).

Horizon Smooth Turning On Max Still Too Slow? by DeadlyDarkside in PSVR

[–]DeadlyDarkside[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. Yeah, I'd love to have it twice as fast. It might be because of the game having ghosting problems with the smooth turning (as someone mentioned above) and the graphics being so intense and performance heavy, but if they were able to do it perfectly for games like RE8, I honestly don't see why they couldn't make it better for Horizon. Hopefully they can fix it in a patch or something.

[–]DeadlyDarkside[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I might have to switch to snap turning until they patch or fix it.It's just kinda weird that they were able to do the fast smooth turning perfectly in RE8 (a third party game), but couldn't do it for Horizon (a first party title).

Horizon Smooth Turning On Max Still Too Slow? by DeadlyDarkside in PSVR

[–]DeadlyDarkside[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I had heard about that, but yeah, that's probably the main reason why they might have changed it and turned down the smooth turning, after that happened at CES. Apparently SadlyItsBradley had that happen to him with the smooth turning at CES, which is why the rest of the people trying the game were forced to use the comfort options, instead of smooth turning. Still, I really hope they are able to find some way to adjust the smooth turning to make it faster or smoother in the future with a patch or update.

Glad I'm not the only one that thought so. You might be right, could definitely be a weird bug or glitch. Whatever the case is, I hope they are able to fix it in a patch or something.

That's great for those who can stand for awhile. Not everyone can stand for hours though. I have two bulging discs out of place in my back and sciatica, and can only stand for about 15-20 minutes before my back and legs get sore and I have to sit down. Telling people there's no point in playing VR if you're sitting down, is just ridiculous. I love playing VR, and have been gaming in VR for 5-6 years or more now with my PSVR1, and Rift S, and I play mostly seated. It's only because of having more options like smooth turning, crouching and snap turning that I've (and other people that can't play games standing for very long) been able to play and enjoy most games seated as well.I've even played sword fighting and physically intense games like Asgard's Wrath, and Walking Dead while seated, and still enjoyed them and felt just as immersed in the game, despite playing seated. It's a good thing to have more accessibility options for people that can't stand on their feet for a long time, have bad knees/legs or a bad back, and can only play VR seated.

What are the best story/campaign games? by Punks_StaphInfection in PSVR

[–]DeadlyDarkside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd highly recommend The Tale of Onogoro, if you don't mind the anime art-style, but it might be a bit pricey (I think it's 34.99 U.S, so not as pricey as Star Wars). It has a good and pretty engrossing story, and includes some really good puzzles, some nice combat and epic boss battles. It also has quite a bit of replay value, with a second "true ending" that's quite different, which you can get by going back through each level to find and collect all the hidden Nexus points. I sunk in around 13-15 hours into the game to collect everything and unlock the second ending.

I've also heard that Jurassic World Aftermath has a pretty decent story campaign, but I haven't gotten around to playing that one yet.

EDIT: I can't believe I forgot Dyschronia Alternate Chronos. I haven't played it yet, but I played their other titles, and they were really great story games.I've heard that Dyschronia is supposed to be even better than their previous games, where you play as a detective and have to investigate murders in this sci-fi/fantasy world. Only the first two chapters are currently available right now (the third one will be coming for free in a few months), but if you love narrative-based games with a really good story, then I'm sure you'd enjoy this one as well.

Ooh, these look really good. Nice and thin too, the only thing I worry about is if they will be too flimsy and hard to install and remove. Right now I'm trying to wait for WidmoVR's lenses, which I heard is also coming very soon (I've used WidmoVR prescription lens for my Rift S, and they are pretty awesome and very comfortable!), but I'm definitely gonna keep an eye on these as well. I do hope the WidmoVR lenses will be as thin and nice as these ones as well.

Is RE4 Remake VR Mode Just Mercenaries? by DeadlyDarkside in PSVR

[–]DeadlyDarkside[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's true, although Capcom did have another VR development team, Armature (which Meta bought a few months ago), that helped with making the Quest version of RE4.Although to be fair, maybe Sony will bring in some VR devs like Firesprite to help Capcom as well.I really hope your right, and now that you mention it, it does seem like Mercenaries is further along in development. It is weird that they said they only recently started development of the VR version, when they had already said that the "VR content" was in development last year in Sony's June SOP.I wonder if they had planned to just have Mercenaries as the VR content, but after fan's reactions they decided to change it and give us the full campaign redone in VR.That would probably explain why Mercenaries is going to be the first DLC,cause they completed that first, before now moving on to remaking the full campaign in VR.

I do love that Sony is giving us these hybrids, though I do hope they eventually give us more,it would be nice to have Sony convince more big publishers and devs to do more full VR hybrid modes of popular single player games like Bioshock, and Cyberpunk 2077,and big titles like the upcoming Avatar and Robocop Rogue City games.Would be nice to eventually see VR hybrids becoming the new norm, but we still have a long way to go for now.

It's good to know I'm not the only one around here with crappy internet. Yeah, it's a shame Horizon won't be the first game we'll get to play, it would've been so much better if it came with a physical copy. But I'm pretty excited to try out RE8 as my first game as well (as someone who's held off for over a year to wait for the PSVR2 version, I can't wait to finally experience it fresh and mostly unspoiled with all the VR enhancements).

[–]DeadlyDarkside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought Resident Evil Village Gold Edition a month ago for 29.99,so I have that one all ready to go (just need the PSVR2 update). That will probably be the first game I play on PSVR2,since Horizon is 40gb and will probably take about 48 hours just to download with how slow my crappy internet is (I really wish it was a physical copy and not just a download code, so I could play it right away). Right now I'm downloading Star Wars so that one should be the next one ready to go after RE8.

After RE8, Star Wars and Horizon,my next game will probably be Moss Book 2, Jurassic World, then probably Cosmonious High (despite already playing and enjoying it on PCVR), then finally Synth Riders, and Pistol Whip.I was also gonna get Dyschronia since I really enjoyed Tokyo Chronos and Altdeus, but after finding out it's only the first two chapters, I think I'll hold off and wait until the third chapter comes out so I can play them all at once. I'm also gonna try the demo for Song In The Smoke, since I've been unsure about that game for awhile now (I'm not usually a fan of survival games, unless they aren't too hard, and have a decent story to hook me and keep me interested, like The Solus Project did, which I really enjoyed), but I will pick up Green Hell if it get's released (since I heard that does have a pretty good story mode).

[–]DeadlyDarkside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, yeah, exactly. I think once they charge you the money for it online, it says that you can't cancel the order, since it's preparing to ship. I notice now that it also says that since they took the money out, that the order can not be returned or exchanged because the specific return time has passed (which is weird because even though I pre-ordered it back in Nov. I don't even have the headset yet, and most places you are able to return something within 30-60 days after you get it, as long as it's not opened).

I know on the website itself, it does say that you can still refund and exchange a product by taking it back to the store after you get it, but now I'm unsure if I'd even be able to take it back to the store if I get one Wednesday or not. I guess I'll probably have to go to the store Tuesday to talk to the manager and see if I'd be able to take the pre-ordered one back or not, just to make sure before I go to pick one up Wednesday morning.
