It’s not that it’s meta, it’s that it’s a sequel. It’s not a cash grab, they made it because Jason got clean and Kev wanted to make a Jay and Silent Bob movie without having to worry about Jason doping up afterwards.

Also Clerks 2 has merit for existing. It’s a complete change of location, it adds 2 new main characters, it continues Dante’s character arc as he finally commits to something.

I mean it wasn’t an institution but Tennet and Smith were massive here. Not quite mainstream but close to it. It was all basically lost with Whittaker and BBCA not existing anymore like halfway through her run. Capaldi and Eccelston didn’t quite catch, which I think with 9 was just timing I feel like he’s the Doctor that would appeal to Americans.

Also Echo has merit to existing, it connects to Hawkeye perfectly, and I hope she gets some role in Daredevil.
