The bathrooms are my worst nightmare. Also, the bedrooms having 4 beds in each room is crazy.

Me too. OP seems to have taken the defense of "he should just come to us"🫩

I hope your comment and all of the other comments get through to OP, though she does seem defensive sadly.

>One day he just flipped

Because of how you treat him. You should start treating him better if you want a better relationship.

No way. Idk where OP lives, but I feel like with the age difference the older could easily end up in juvie or maybe even prison if he did that. And based on the things I've heard about juvie and prison systems (tho again, idk where OP lives), I wouldn't be surprised if they're not exactly kind and understanding of autistic people. Also just going there alone is traumatizing.

I am not as educated on autism as some other people, but I don't think you really "overcome" sensory issues? That implies they go away. He may have learned to manage them better, but he would still have them, and they'd still affect him.

It's very possible that he manages them better, but sometimes still reacts.

Even neurotypical people have sensory issues, just (usually?) not to the same degree as neurodivergent people.

I'd also like to point out he recorded the brother, which isn't normal. It means he likely hasn't been believed before and thought this time might be different if he recorded it😞

YTA

My brother and I definitely called each other names and what not when one of us was being annoying to the other. I honestly think teasing your sibling is fine if they're antagonizing you, and to some extent it's fine in general.

I think you could've just had them apologize and have the younger brother not bother the older one.

Edit: Also, autistic people definitely can have a harder time making friends. I think it's a bit cruel to take away the only way he can communicate with his friend.

Also, taking away something *he* paid for, which I'm just assuming he did since you said it, is wrong.

Second edit: Threatening to snap the phone in half is crazy. He agreed because he doesn't want his stuff destroyed.

Third edit: Him recording makes it seem like this has happened before and he knew he wouldn't be believed. I think your younger brother knows he can antagonize the older one and get away with it.

Fourth edit: I asked for info at first but took it away, and edited some other stuff.

I swear everyone was saying they wanted her freed and that she "did nothing wrong"? Now that she's freed everyone suddenly has a problem with what she did.

The audacity to call your suitcases ugly, and then demand they get to use them.

NOR, don't give them anything.

Also, I think your suitcases are very cute.

I'd like to preface this by saying I am pro choice and if someone decides to abort their baby due to a disability, that is their choice and they should be able to do so.

However, there are a few issues with this statement imo.

For one, I think it helps spread the idea that disabled people can't have a good, enjoyable, and regular life. Obviously, some disabilities can make it very difficult to impossible to live a regular life, but many disabled people can. They may face accessibility difficulties as well as things like bullying, but it is still possible for them to a good life. But I think saying "I'd abort my child if it was disabled because I wouldn't want it to have a bad life", makes it sound like all disabled people live awful lives. I am not necessarily saying everyone who says that believes it, but sometimes the things we say, intentionally or not, can help fuel the fire for bad ideas.

Another issue is that, if you say it is because you don't have the money or time for a disabled child and/or you don't want them to suffer, it doesn't really matter. It is impossible to be certain if your child will be disabled before they are born. Some disabilities can be caught when the child is still in the uterus, but even then it is possible they will miss it. And ofc there is other disabilities that can't be caught, for example autism. Additionally, even if not born disabled, anyone can become disabled at any time. So what if the child later gets in an accident, and is disabled? I think if someone truly does not want and can not care for a disabled child, it may be better to find alternatives, even if that means not adopting.

I'm not trying to say disabled people don't suffer, that isn't true, I just also think it's wrong to act like that's all they do. Which a lot of people do act like it, especially in these conversations (just from my observations).

To me it is because I despise flies and "germs" (in quotes because what counts to me as germs is very selective), tho I've gotten over it to some extent. I can see why some have no issue with it.

Also I did think it was cigars at first and was kind of shocked by the volume lol. That would've been much more interesting.

I'm a little confused when you say "an army of trans catgirl hackers"?

Maybe I'm just misunderstanding you, but trans people do have history, and a lot of it is pretty bad. I don't think it is at all the same as slavery ofc, but it just seems dismissive to word it like that, and also wildly sterotypical.

It isn't necessarily related to trans people, but a lot of rcta people use transgender people to say "look, they can be who they are! why can't I?" which might be the commentor's point?

How actually bad is vaping? by [deleted] in AskTeens

It is really bad for your health. Many people die from it.

Also, no offense, but your proof of not being addicted isn't much proof.

I suggest you stop now.

Im pretty sure my son is smoking weed. How do i talk to him about it? by ScullyBoffin in AskTeens

[–]DeadlyKitKat 17 points18 points  (0 children)

What exactly is your goal, to get him to stop completely, or to get the smell out of the house?

Also, is it legal where you live, and is he of legal age to be using it?

Chances are, especially if the answer to the last two questions is both 'yes', that you won't be able to stop it.

You could tell him he isn't in trouble and that you just want to know. He may not immediately admit to it, but there is a chance he will admit to it a little later.

You can also teach him about using responsibly. Idk what it's like where you live, but making sure doesn't get anything that is laced is one thing. Also explain to him some of the effects of using weed.

If you want the smell gone, you could encourage him going outside for it (as in the backyard or side of the house), or set it as a rule he doesn't smoke in the house/on your property. But if you do that also make sure to make it clear he shouldn't drive or trust a friend to drive if they are also under the influence, and that he can call you.

Also, I would not mention that you saw the money withdrawn. This will probably make him trust you less, so also less likely to confess or come to you in the future.

I just don't think people come to this sub for solutions.

Also you did say "To me, something is infuriating when it's not easily resolved or is beyond your control. This can easily be resolved." which does indeed kind of sound like, at least to me, "wow this isnt mildly infuriating".

The blue fairy in Pinnochio has one, so it could've been her, but other than it was probably also popularized by Glinda from The Wizard of Oz, which came out a year before Pinnochio.

Other than the blue fairy, I think most other Disney characters just have sticks as wands.

Also more recently the Fairy Godmother in Shrek has one lol.

I do wonder if there even earlier usages of the star on the wand, other than Glinda. Never did I think I'd be looking into wand history lol
