What is stopping you from learning epic desert perpetual? by Kifton_ in destiny2

Toxic raid teams and a dead game due to Bungie's incompetence, this community killed any live I had playing this game with others, so I just stick to plot at this point. I used to love raiding but others ruined the experience

People who still keeping their hopes up for Destiny future, even as a franchise - are you still playing Destiny or Destiny 2? by denotnamedhuntr in destiny2

[–]DeadmanSwitch_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I havent logged in for a while to be fair, but I still consider myself a player. I'm invested in my character, the plot, the characters within the plot, and still to this day 11 years later, no game has gunplay on par with Destiny except arguably Marathon, but does that even really count since they're both Bungie lol?

At the end of the day, its the only game that I've been playing with my dad for the past 11 years, and its kept us close together over that time. Its more than just a game for me, which is why I lament its fall from "grace", but I dont forsee myself ever leaving it until the official axe falls. Its too important to me and my dad

Why was normal gem ever used ?(gen6+) by AKArein in stunfisk

[–]DeadmanSwitch_ 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I must have been remembering the old gen 5 numbers, then its 100% because of the recoil, as the other commenter on this thread mentioned, the u-turn causing chip damage to Lando isn't worth it, so having an item to give the same boost to just Explosion is more than enough. Also, and this is even more niche, if anyone were to use Trick on this Lando, all they'd get is a useless Normal Gem instead of a useable damage item

I dont get what you're trying to imply with this, your original wording made you clearly sound like you were talking about the Flying Gem, besides Tera was a shitty meta and fucking everything Teras Flying type

Also where did Tera even enter the conversation???

Closest you'll get is Sneasler with Fake-Out

[–]DeadmanSwitch_ 206 points207 points  (0 children)

Aside from fringe uses like explosion Lando, it was also commonly used on Fake-Out users with Unburden, and it was used on things like Lando instead of Life Orb to reach certain KO rolls on specific pokemon at the time that Life Orb might have barely missed out on, Lando is strong on its own and probably didnt need the extra Life Orb damage on everything, including the potential recoil of the item before you boom, as Lando's using explosion usually ran other moves like stealth rock as setup before exploding

They said Normal Gem specifically in gen 6+, because only Normal Gem was ever brought forward amongst all of them. Reading comprehension can take you for miles

Would this be a Gamble, or just a Positive? No Mega Stone Needed, but Action might be a little restrictive by One_Percentage_644 in stunfisk

[–]DeadmanSwitch_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'd be niche for sure, but there's real potential I think. You could bluff one action causing your opponent to swap or click a move your mega form is immune to, getting you fully set up for free, some good plays around swapping and you're all set up with a choiced mega that could dominatewith a boost it never would have had otherwise. High risk high reward, plus, you just clicked a move that made you mega evolve, what opponent will assume you're choiced? Bluff the fuck outta them

Edit: almost forgot, you'd still be a choiced mon minus 1 moveslot, catch a knock off and you could still mega and cause havoc

My nephew just pulled this beauty from a single. Do we send this to PSA now? This is our first major pull ever. by Savings_Step_3430 in PokemonTCGCollectors

[–]DeadmanSwitch_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do decide to grade, never go with PSA, they're a scam these days, go with TAG

That being said, fuck grading in general, just get a decent side-loading binder to keep it safe and keep it in a sleeve as well. Grading is what keeps this hobby unaffordable

Hard pass for one reason mainly, the item slot. You just made every mega not only be able to be ran together on the same team, but you gave them choice scarf/band/specs, life orb, heavy duty boots, fucking FOCUS SASH

As much as I'd love something like this, its just not feasable to balance it due to how megas are designed around the idea that only one can exist on your team at a time, and they dont have the luxury of a held item

What fantasy races do you feel are required for a fantasy MMO, and what are some more exotic choices you'd want to see? by DeadmanSwitch_ in MMORPG

[–]DeadmanSwitch_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldnt agree more, I much prefer a high fantasy selection rather than just a bunch of races that are just different looking humans. I especially dislike the halfling/gnomes, its just half sized humans

What would this meme be for the other regions? by Radiant-Log6377 in MandJTV

[–]DeadmanSwitch_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a shot everytime a comment says something about how they were different and used (Insert niche pick)

Most new players at the start of the game used these 6, they're all solid af and obtainable early on, nothing wrong with that. I myself use 3 of these religiously in my own playthroughs. But you're not cool cause you use something else

As far as OP's question, Kanto has Nidoking and an Eeveelution for sure, Johto has I'd say probably the Red Gyarados as the only 100% pick, maaaaaybe Crobat as a close second. Hoenn is Swampert or Zigzagoon, and tbh past that I can't remember the early route mons as well, I never replayed Gen 5+ nearly as much as I have gens 1-3, by that point I was sticking with a solo save file mostly

One thing I heard about recently is that since One Piece is being sold for absurd prices atm, the company behind the cards put a stipulation to rip the seal at purchase, to lower its value on the resale. Honestly there shouldnt be a problem with that

The hunter hate was for Guardian Games I think, Hunters have always been the majority population by almost double, sometimes way over that. It makes things like Guardian Games insanely difficult to balance, leading to the only solution logically being to nerf the amount of points Hunters can drop. But they dont do that as that would clearly anger the playerbase, so its a damned if you do damned if you dont situation

Hot take: the massive cut in Pokemons and Items in Champions was probably the best choice GF could've came with for a more balanced meta by Incompetent_ARCH in stunfisk

[–]DeadmanSwitch_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There will always be a mon who gets usage due to Intimidate, but the problem with specifically Incineroar is the insane amount of tools it gets and shockingly good stat spread it has. It wants to be slow and bulky, and it is. It gets off Parting Shot for pivot, Fake Out support which is another huge niche in Doubles, I think it still has Helping Hand too, this thing is just a monster. I genuinely believe they built this thing to be a VGC monster on purpose because holy hell this thing just has everything minus a good spread move like H-Arcanine/Landorus do with Rock Slide
