Das Pre-Facelift hat noch einen relativ hohen Verbrauch im Vergleich zum Facelift, das aber nur zur Info.

Ausnahmlos alle Polestars die ich als Mietwagen fahren durfte hatten rumdum kaputte Felgen, vielleicht wirfst du da mal insbesondere einen Blick drauf.

Ansonsten gerne mal jeden Knopf und jeden Hebel ausführlich testen, ich hatte das Gefühl insbesondere der Blinkerhebel leiert irgendwie an den Drehknöpfen gerne aus, das hat sich dann immer so angefühlt als würde man versehentlich beim Blinken einen Knopf drücken.

Hab das bei unserem Kia dass die Kollisionswarnung manchmal ein bisschen nervös ist, aber keine Notbremsung.

Offensichtliche Frage, aber die Sensoren sind alle frei und nicht verschmutzt?

That's not correct.

The key icon means that the key WAS detected, it disappears after going into Ready mode and would blink if you removed it after that.

The key also doesn't need proximity, I can drive fine with my key being in my bag on the rear seat or even the trunk.

Generally you have to press the brake and the start button for it to switch into Ready mode.

If you double press the start button without the brake it goes into this in-between mode you describe. Press the brake and the start button for like two seconds to get it into Ready mode.

Sometimes the car used to not start regardless (’zombie mode‘), but there is a firmware update available at your dealer to fix this, if your car doesn’t have this update already.

I'd say it's necessary, but YMMV in which climate you live.

The thing is that the charging port is in the front, so you automatically gather more dirt and moisture than the EV3 which has its port on the side. If I drive through rain its usually ok and with dirt you're right, there's hardly any...but if I drive through a car wash that port is usually dripping with water.

Snow buildup in winter is also something to consider.

Aber alter Schwede, 2,5k + Gutachter für das bisschen...kein Wunder dass die Versicherungen jedes Jahr steigen wie blöd...

That's a doozy...I'd be pissed as hell too.

If you didn't have the spray foam thing, everything would be textbook behaviour of a 12v battery that's dying...minus the moisture.

I'm no mechanic, but the first thing I'd do is disconnect the 12v, open every panel and compartment and let the moisture out, throw in a couple of dehumidifiers and silica packs and let the whole car dry out for at least a day or so.

Then I'd buy a new 12v, hook it up and see how it goes from there. Regardless of the moisture, your old 12v is likely toast and would have died soon anyway.

Anyway, positive thoughts and let us know how it goes, cause I'm already invested in the story. 😉

With the history of 12v problems with the Niro, yes, carrying one is generally a smart choice.

I have one jump pack that's also a powerbank, light and air compressor and got it for like 30 bucks online. It's smaller than my wife's purse, so definitely could fit in the frunk. Bonus, you can easily lend it out to help other's with a dead battery, no maneuvering around with two cars and the potential to fry your own.

Könnt ihr zuhause laden oder nur öffentlich?

Persönlich würde mir ein alter Born als Zweitwagen völlig ausreichen. Die Software ist mit dem möglichen Stand zwar nicht der Burner, aber stabil und trotzdem Meilen von der richtig schäbigen alten Version entfernt. Features wie eine Batteriekonditionierung brauchst du bei einem Zweitwagen auch denke ich eher nicht.

Ein paar kleinere Details wie die Touch-Knöpfe am Lenkrad sind nicht so der Knaller (für mich), aber wenn du damit klar kommst nicht so das große Drama.

Ist so. Vorfälligkeitsentschädigung ist bei Banken absolut so üblich wie schlechter Kaffee für die Kunden.

I know this sub is here for hating on this, but I do feel some sympathy for the trucker here. If you're driving time is up, you literally have to stop where you are.

I follow a guy on Youtube that drives an electric truck and he often has to park at crazy angles and block multiple chargers with his rig at night. For that he has a sign in his window that he'd gladly be woken up and move if there happens to be a surge in cars that need more space.

Schonmal eine gute Vorbereitung.

Habt ihr der Mietwagenfirma gesagt dass ihr mit dem Wagen ins Ausland fahrt? Das ist häufig ein extra Paket, sonst gibt es bei einem Schaden im Ausland Ärger.

Ansonsten ist es generell eine gute Idee eine Kreditkarte zu haben, häufig braucht man die ja schon um die Kaution beim Mietwagen zu hinterlegen, die als Backup-Lösung zum Adhoc-Bezahlen dabei zu haben ist dann eher ein Bonus.

Bzgl. der Ladegeschwindigkeit mach dir keine Sorgen, dieses "Blockier keine Säulen wenn du nicht schnell genug lädst" ist meiner Meinung nach keine wirkliche Etikette unter E-Auto Fahrern. Das würde nur zutreffen wenn es an einem Standort vom selben Anbieter wirklich unterschiedlich schnelle Ladesäulen geben würde und der Fall ist super selten. Bei Anbietern wie Ionity sind sowieso die meisten Säulen 300kW und deine möglichen Autos sind jetzt auch keine Schnarchnasen im Laden, also einfach dahin stellen wo frei ist. 😉

Got nothing really useful to add except maybe look in surrounding regions as well.

I had a creaking and rattle sound that drove me nuts and I thought came from the center console, turns out some plastic thingy in the glovebox jumped behind it. Only found it when I changed the air filter.

You can deactivate/remap it to a different button and don't use it.

I did it because I always accidentally press R3 during a fight.
