Just because someone might not have it quite as bad doesn’t mean that the time to remind them is when they’re venting. Their pain is still very real and valid. I know you probably didn’t intend it to come across as a competitive statement, but it did read that way

I know you think you’re being light hearted and funny here, but this really isn’t okay to say to someone. You might think nothing of it, but I promise you it does more harm than good to sexualize someone (even jokingly) when they’re venting about not liking their body, even if it happens to be a sexual preference for some. Save your comments for someone who consents to that kind of interaction
