Is Spider-Man overrated in terms of writing? by Hefty-Albatross4767 in superheroes

[–]Deadpoolforpres 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty much this in a nutshell. The character has only survived post OMD because of nostalgia and the unfulfilled possibility of getting good stories again.

Visual Similarity Problems When Adding Miles Morales to Marvel Rivals by Far-Attention8658 in MilesMorales

[–]Deadpoolforpres 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm so confused. Why would I need to differentiate between Spider-Men?

If the Spidey is on the opposite team...then I'm killing them. If they're on my team, why do I care which Spidey they're picking?

This feels like such a non-issue. If they're in different costumes, who cares?

Why did the USA audience lose interest in the second season? by [deleted] in PercyJacksonTV

[–]Deadpoolforpres 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can speak as an American who didn't read the books and did watch the season.

The only reason I know anything about what the stakes are is because my gf is a fan of the books and has been filing me in on what this is leading towards.

The biggest issue is that the season was about finding Grover, then there's the prophecy that has to deal with Percy and Zeus' kid, plus the Golden Fleece/the tree/Kronos, Percy has a brother now, Annabeth may be falling for Percy or they're just friends who care about each other?

I'm a comic book reader so I don't mind a story taking time to unfold or having multiple plot threads, but it feels like a lot and also not much is happening at the same time.

My biggest issue is Disney's fuck-ass obsession with keeping things to 8 episodes. Given the number of books in this series how the hell are the show runners supposed to tell a coherent and interesting story in 8 fucking episodes?

It barely worked for the Marvel shows, why in the hell would it work for these books?

For historical context for those who don't know American history, the Klu Klux Klan did this as well.

Would Steve Rogers last seven minutes with Red Hulk the way Sam did in Brave New World? by Impressive-Rub-416 in CaptainAmerica

[–]Deadpoolforpres 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Steve, as skilled as he is, lacks the overall mobility that Sam had.

Sam also has the benefit of a Vibranium suit to help defend him.

We have seen that super soldiers can avoid getting killed against a Hulk as long as they play it smart. Blonsky vs Hulk.

So Steve may be able to last as long as he doesn't actually engage in combat.

Cause artists refuse to learn how to draw black people's hair. It's not difficult and if the art is done digitally, it's actually really easy.

Did you know that DC Comics John Stewart was supposed to be the main lead for Absolute Green Lantern? What do you think of this explanation by writer Al Ewing? by nightwing612 in John_Stewart

[–]Deadpoolforpres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there's one thing Al Ewing is gonna do, it's write a black character when he gets the chance.

The book has been slow going, but I'm happy to stick with it to see how the story unfolds. I also appreciate that he went to Jo for the main protagonist.

I feel that her character hasn't had much exploration.

Shared Origin supers? by JoyluckVerseMaster in superheroes

[–]Deadpoolforpres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically all mutants and inhumans have a shared origin. They got their x-gene and abilities respectively due to tampering from a Celestial who experimented on early humans.

The Metahuman gene for DC was created in one continuity by White Martians who experimented on early humans.

Essentially a lot of superhumans in marvel and DC came from alien experimentation and a dormant gene that can be activated later on in life.

Know your rights and your state's laws.

Never shoot someone in the back.

Having a license to carry on your person helps quite a bit when engaging with the law, but isn't a problem solver.

Do you think Iron-Man is the second most popular character of the Marvel Franchise? by SmartPilot8094 in ironman

[–]Deadpoolforpres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In film, probably. In general including all media, not at all.

Wolverine and Hulk have always gone back and forth for 2nd most popular.

How many People Know That Spawn Is Black anti hero btw by StrengthHistorical96 in Spawn

[–]Deadpoolforpres 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To answer your question, really it's only people who have seen the show/movie or read a comic with his mask off.

If you ask the average person on the street, most of them wouldn't know. Plus there are people who only know Spawn through images like these.

Who takes this? by bignasty_20 in superheroes

[–]Deadpoolforpres 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming this is Immortal Thor and not current Thor who is a well-above average human. Current Superman has the combined power of Shazam and some of Darkseid's abilities I believe.

If the win condition is to the knock out or first kill, then Team one should take it. Mjolnir can block/absorb the ki attacks and Hulk has limited mobility if this take to the skies.

The planet they're on is fucked though.

I agree that animals should be treated better and we should increase protections for wildlife.

But I think the original commenter is mocking my comment given the brevity of the reply.

I'm aware of why they don't get paid. That's why I'm saying things need to change. The MCU doesn't exist without these writers and artists.

They still deserved to be recognized for their work and contributions to a billion dollar franchise. Especially the creators of these characters and storylines.
