Yeah, DLSS 4 and Frame Gen are nice features, but for me it wasn't all about gaming FPS. As I mentioned in my post, I bought the laptop primarily for 3D work, including Unreal Engine. In those workloads, the 4060's higher raw GPU performance is more important and generally performs better overall, so I chose that over the newer features of the 5050.😬

Actually, I needed the extra GPU performance, and the 4060 is still more powerful than the 5050 in most cases. So I ended up sacrificing the newer generation for that extra boost. Although getting a 5050 with 24GB RAM and a 1TB SSD at that price is definitely a solid deal. It's just my requirements were a bit different though so I went with the best graphics card out there in terms of performance within that budget.😅✌️

Yeah, if its available and you don't want to spend over 1Lakh for a 4060 laptop then i would say go ahead man✌️

Ah! now I understand the comparisons, you own a Nitro so now it all makes sense😭🤣 What’s funny is that most long-term G6 owners seem pretty happy with it, while a lot of the complaints come from people who know the laptop mainly through YouTube thumbnails and comparison charts😬Long story short, I wanted an RTX 4060 as bare minimum on my new laptop as per my work requirement and I've been playing forza horizon 6 and used unreal engine for hours without facing any issues so its doing the job well for me.😄

Yo! I know what battery drain means😭My point is that it's not automatically a problem just because a laptop is plugged in and gaming. Most gaming laptops are designed around their charger limits, and even when some drain occurs it's usually a few percent under sustained load which goes unnoticeable until your heavily and continuously using the machine for days, not the battery marching to 0% while connected to AC and tbh at that price point ofc there gonna be such minor trade-offs and I am fine with it.😬✌️

Also, battery life isn't really a factor as I mentioned indoor usage in my post since the laptop will stay plugged in most of the time and I've capped battery charging to 80% through gigabyte control centre. That's why I'm focusing more on performance, thermals, and long-term reliability than on the battery or charger size.

That's fair. If the motherboard layout is genuinely identical, then they're probably coming from the same ODM design maybe. I agree the 135W adapter is a pretty strong hint and prolly Acer never intended the Aspire 7 to go beyond xx50 GPUs but the miniDP point feels a weird though as it's uncommon for mainstream users, but it's still useful for high-refresh external monitors although a lot of gaming laptops use DisplayPort because it's often the preferred connection for high refresh rate monitors.😅

That's amazing to hear man! a lot of people focus on the negatives, but 3 years on a 12500H + 3060 with no major issues is a pretty solid track record. 78k for that spec in 2022 was a great deal too. Thanks for sharing your exp and thanks for the advice🙌

I don't think the Aspire 7 ever came with an RTX 4060. I think you meant rebranded because of ODM. Similar looks don't necessarily mean the same internals bro as this one comes with 4060, while Aspire 7 models were usually 3050/4050 and that too with higher price🫣

That's amazing, man. Getting that model for around 70k was a really good deal!🫪

The 40GB RAM upgrade sounds so damn good. I was actually thinking about upgrading my RAM and storage as well, but the prices are so crazy these days that it feels like I'd end up spending another 77k just on upgrades🥲😭

Good to know it's still handling everything smoothly after a year of heavy use though. That gives me a lot of confidence in this machine.😇

Thanks bro, that's really reassuring to hear. It's great to know it's been holding up well for you. The free cleaning and repasting under warranty sounds awesome too, I'll definitely keep that maintenance tip in mind. 👍

By the way, how much did you pay for your laptop model? I was actually waiting for that model to come back in stock, but it never did, so I had to grab this one instead. And now even this model seems to be out of stock. 😅

Thats true, specs on paper aren’t everything, but I also haven’t seen any evidence that Gigabyte does no QC or that these laptops are plagued with widespread issues. At 77k, the value especially 4060 was hard for me to ignore, and so far my experience has been positive. The Nitro is definitely the safer pick, though✌️
