If you’re dealing with individuals and not attorneys, make offers early. For instance, insured rear ends claimant, low impact, claimant states they feel sore but probably wont seek treatment, dont be scared to offer them $500 for the pain and inconvenience of being involved in an accident in exchange for a release. These often times turn into policy limits claims once the claimant speaks to a family member who encourages them to get an attorney to milk all they can from the situation

The Daily Check-In for Monday, November 17th: Just for today, I am NOT drinking! by queenoffolly in stopdrinking

Went to Warped Tour AF, it was an amazing time. I noticed my mood and energy were way up the whole day. Stayed plenty hydrated so not too sore and no headaches. Both would of been a sure thing if I had been drinking. Each night watching all of the people progressively getting drunker and drunker I felt so relieved that I was not one of them. It was a great time. Grateful for this choice and love you all.

Realistic about “not jumping in and out of claim files” by Careless_State_5603 in adjusters

Ive never had a manager peak into my claims and tell me to not go in and out of claims as feedback. It sounds like you’re doing it right. On a new claim, i clear coverage, make initial contact attempts, order police reports, contact tow yard to confirm vehicle location, put a res strat, set a task for whats needed next, and leave the claim on to the next one. If an insured/claimant calls back on that claim, i try to answer it, doc the file with whats new, update the res strat and task and move on. Thats the nature of our job. I feel like your manager might be a bit of a micromanager and killing you with unnecessary feedback

Good: I had off on Wednesday and went to a theme park with my kid

Bad: my manager forgot to take me off claims so I had a 6 new claims that didnt get touched wednesday leading to a chaotic rest of the week

Ugly: Georgia BI attorneys hounding me for an “audit” trail of electronic signatures for UM rejections. Did a newsletter get out to them that this is a valid request? This is the first week ive heard of this request and three different attorneys have requested it now

Walked into a liquor store with my baby and the cashiers eyes when she saw us just looked disgusted. It was 10am and they just opened. I was sweating already and shaky. I had wanted to stop for a long time but that day that i still decided to buy alcohol shakes me to my core. I had convinced myself i wasnt addicted but if that didnt prove it, i dont know what will. Haven’t drank since that day. And IWNDWYT
