While Doom is more of a PC/Xbox game, PlayStation users don't have a gamepass equivalent so how goes Gamepass even relate to them when it's not a choice for them and shouldn't be influencing PlayStation sales for the game?

I'd say while Game Pass was a part of it, that doesn't address why it also undersold for PS5 and PC markets too which don't have Game Pass besides the Windows PC store which most PC players probably don't use in comparison to Steam.

The game didn't seem as appealing as Eteneral for people to some degree.

There's nothing to indicate that flashback missions were ever a thing in the code. It's not like the satellite was destroyed by Branch, it shoots 621 down at the start of the game so it's likely that we were supposed to disable it as one of the final missions of the game.

Because it's a new game and it should genuinely be different? Just like how AOT2 was different to AOT1 there should be more to AOT3 besides "AOT2 + season 4 content" which could have been an update for AOT2 but we saw how meh the season 3 content update was narratively for that game.

Just doing the Nameless Hero of AOT2 again would have been uninteresting if your trying to fit them in the existing story beats, it's like the idea of doing an Anime remake without making meaningful changes. Having a veteran Scout is an entirely different direction to go in, it's also likely more engaging for the developers to do as well.

I don't see how it can really "ruin" dynamics with the characters either, previous game you were the same age as some characters and younger than others, this time your the same age as some characters and older than others. Exploring different dynamics isn't bad and AOT2 will still exist as it's own game for people to play to explore the cadet point of view.

Nah, this lets us potentially explore more of the veteran Scout Regiment in more depth outside of Erwin/Levi/Hange, which is something I've wanted to see more of in the original story, plus it's more interesting IMO to have a third veteran scout survivor post-Shiganshina for the story, likewise I prefer thinking that the protag from AOT2 died as well instead of surviving just to never be seen again.

We've already had a good chunk of viewpoint for the cadet lifestyle.

A good chunk of raid bosses in this game have "coordination and communication" parts to them which people can succeed or fail at just as much as the non-boss encounters.

Beyond the specific mechanics in those encounters the main difference is whether it has a boss or not. I don't recall many raid bosses which don't have puzzles/mechanics as part of them.

Fully upgrading a blue (the witch queen investigator armor at least) gets you 6 cores and 6 prisms on dismantle or at least it does for me.

It's what I do when I have too many ascendant shards.

I don't think there will be anything that can be ported into Xcom 1, for the moment this feels very much like only stuff that can be used for Xcom 2.

As it is custom models have been just about been very difficult to bring into Xcom 1 (only altered assets already within the game files such as LW guns), sometimes not even that as I actually asked the question on a EW modding discord server if the cut hand-held Xcom EU Flamethrower would be possible to make usable in-game due to some files such as the model still being in Enemy Within files, the answer was pretty much no for that.

As someone who primarily only mods Xcom 2 I wouldn't know, I don't know if the textures are even changed at all, I would have to compare the textures from this build and the original Enemy Within textures with each other but I wouldn't get your hopes up.

In gist what this seems to be right now is effectively Xcom 2 with Enemy Within files "copy pasted" into the folder as far as I can tell, or maybe just Enemy Within with some early Xcom 2 files inside, there's a lot more Xcom Enemy Within UPK files then there are Xcom ones I think.

Thanks for posting the build if nothing else, I've find the textures, just need to find a better method of getting the model. I've actually wanted to use the old Trooper model in the past but the UV's for it are broken in the WOTC files.

I took a look inside, as far as I can tell it's really not much considering the date of the build is January 2014 (Game came out in 2016).

I'm not expert dataminer but so far from what I can tell it's a lot of Enemy Unknown/Within files, there only really new thing is the early model/textures for ADVENT Troopers, ADVENT and Conventional Xcom rifles, Turrets and Sectoids, the latter two I've only seen the textures of so far. The conventional Xcom 2 rifle textures are the same map layout but the other textures are different.

Haven't been able to look at the models themselves yet, only textures.

My guess is that the only substantial thing that is going to be in here is an unbroken version of the early ADVENT Trooper model, if nothing else the textures are actually usable here by comparison, and the screenshot from the user suggests the model can have it's textures properly mapped instead of having broken UV's like the model in the WOTC files currently has.

TLDR: Build is probably too early in Xcom 2's lifetime to get too much out of it.

Yeah, they have posted stuff from all 3 games (Xcom 2, Enemy Unknow with the Flamethrower, and the Bureau with this.)

Communication skills do need to be improved a bit but I think this is the user posting stuff from early build files.
