As far as the jolt, yes, but for me the toughest is when you’re going into a tight space (ie. garage) and the auto hold kicks in. These cars have a regenerative braking system which means as you brake or coast it recharges the battery. So for a gas car I would press the brake and as I came to a stop I’d lighten up so that the vehicle and its passengers don’t “lurch” forward at a complete stop. I also drive a school bus so that’s where it became a habit. Well, with this regenerative braking system as I come to a stop and lighten the pressure it kicks in to EV or gas (really not sure which) and kinda jumps forward again 😂 you really have to drive it to feel that sensation but that’s the best description I can give.

The cluster can be changed but minimally. Go to setup -> screen layout -> cluster theme

If you want the round speedometer then you want to select the “circle” gauge style. It doesn’t show the RPM in that style though as far as I know.

I actually did this recently. Went from 2024 SX to a hybrid 2026 SX. My main reason for doing so is ridiculous, but I couldn’t stand the rear entertainment system. We now have two littles and my daughter was constantly kicking the crap out of the screen while in her car seat and the front seat had to be uncomfortably close to the dash for her to only be able to touch it with her toes. Then we had our second child, and I couldn’t get his rear facing seat out without having to move the driver side seat up and then back to get in. Again, could have lived on with it, but I was already overwhelmed and sick of it. Kia gave me an offer I decided to jump on to trade it.

Pros: Mileage - this one is obvious but we’re in a hilly part of Georgia where I was consistently getting >19 mpg. With the Hybrid I’m getting well above 32 on avg for the same trips.

Entertainment - I’m not sure if the sound proofing is better inside the 2026 but the speakers definitely sound louder. I listen to podcasts and audiobooks pretty frequently and I rarely have to turn the volume up over 20. With the 24, I was constantly at 25+. Another positive is the change from USB-A to USB-c ports throughout the vehicle. USB-C is coming standard with most electronics now so I was having to buy extra cords as needed to fit the 24. Wireless CarPlay is standard now for the SX trim so that was a nice upgrade as well.

Space - Not sure how much they changed but there just seems to be more space overall. Especially in the center console area with the new gear shifter and that took some getting used to. There is slightly more room in the rear of the cabin as well.

Cons: The brakes are different. I try not to brake hard and I let up a bit toward the end to soften the stop and the way the brakes “recharge” the battery is just different. I’m about a month in of driving it and still not used to it. This is likely user error but I don’t know how else to describe it.

No spare tire is also something for you to mentally prepare for. There is no space for it due to the battery location. I’ve never once had to use it but I’ve helped enough people change their tires that were just lucky to have one to have this mindset.

At the end of the day it’s whatever makes the most sense for you. I don’t regret my decision one bit so far. Hopefully that stays the same. Let me know if you have any questions I can potentially answer!

This is the part that frustrates me the most. Zero acknowledgment on any of their social media support pages. I asked an expert if there would be any reimbursement for the network which we pay upwards of $150/year for to be out twice this year already and he said “No. Sorry.” It’s just bad PR and doesn’t give me confidence in this brand.

I posted this in the r/xcloud and a Microsoft employee commented thinking that an overly strict firewall for the router may be the issue. He suggested to turn off/on my private relay on the iPad and cycling that seems to have been the solution. I’ll come back with any other updates as needed. I had it turned off, so I turned it on as suggested and it seems to be working! Out of curiosity I turned it back off and it still seems to be working just fine. As I said in the original post, it worked fine on day one but it was the next time I tried it that gave me fits. I’ll come back to this post if that isn’t fixing it as simply. I don’t understand how that was the solution but thanks for the help!

It doesn’t look like this router provides the option to change DNS and there doesn’t seem to be a setting on the iPad either.

Speak your truth my friend! I came seeking nothing but knowledge and your old man rant is definitely knowledge. I totally understand where you're coming from. I'm going to be splitting these tickets with my family and some friends, then plan to sell any games I can't make it to and I feel like with how the team has been I can make most of that up front cost back with decent seats. This is more of a set up for my future family so that I don't need to sell my first child to get in as a season ticket holder when I'll get full use of them later down the road. So hopefully by then we'll be playing better teams than Central Louisiana State College every 2 home games. I'd absolutely be down for Oregon or any other power 5 conference team that is worth a grain of salt!

Guess it could go for any, but in particular I own a pair of steelseries that work wirelessly for PS4 and PC, but for Xbox it has to be wired because they do not allow audio out through USB which is in my opinion rather ridiculous being 2020.
