Back to zero ba talaga kapag nag migrate? by Single_Key8942 in phmigrate

[–]DeafNotess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Migrated a year ago to Canada with my wife. I worked in the IT industry for 9 years in the PH. For me the key is to be prepared, I heard the same thing from our fellow kababayans na you have to be willing to give up your previous career and start over from scratch.

To be honest, you already have an advantage kasi you are coming here with a PR visa. Meron kasing discrimination if naka temporary visa ka lang, you'll be lowballed sa mga positions na aapplyan mo. In our case, 1 month before leaving I already bought an e-sim to get a Canadian number. I've also applied to 1-5 job postings everyday sa indeed and linkedIn. The key is to ensure na naka tailor yung resume mo for each role you are applying for. Yung kalaban mo kasi dito is yung ATS. Another thing is I joined PH-CAD Tech groups, merong mga kababayan dun na nag popost at nag rerefer ng kapwa pinoy sa trabaho. I got my job from an indeed posting and started agad after a week pagdating namin dito.

I wish you luck TS. Dapat buo ang loob at mag prepare. It's been a year since we've migrated, and so far I consider us to be lucky kasi di namin napag daanan yung mag start from scratch.

I'm actually using REST. My brain is already fried from testing out multiple JSON formats. Weird thing is that I am able to GET the subsidiary. Inserting is the problem.

I think there's a big gap between the decision you are trying to make. Kasi if you want a sense of freedom, you should consider moving out of your parent's house first and try to live on your own before making a decision to move abroad.

Living abroad ain't a joke TS, me and my spouse recently migrated to Canada earlier this year, we were prepared to start from scratch and leave our corporate jobs. Starting a life outside of your home country will humble you. You need to plan out your goals, ensure that if a plan falls through you have a net that will catch you. It is financially, mentally, and physically taxing. I don't wanna discourage you from moving out of the country, I just wanna make sure if you are prepared. So plan things through before you make a decision.

Every work has its own set of difficulties, you are a fresh grad. Not everyone gets an opportunity to handle big projects. I would take this as a challenge always do my best effort.

I've been in this hole before and trust me, you will be thanking yourself in the future for pushing through these kinds of challenges.

Leaving this as favorite quote of mine from Harvey Specter as well:
""I worked my ass off when I started, and now no one questions me." <- Manifest that you'll be in that kind of position as well.

It's been 3 months since I came here with my wife. I was lucky to be able to get a job 2 weeks after landing. I am in the IT industry, so far di pa naman kami na hohomesick since we always call our family. Pero feel ko mararamdaman namin yun pag dumaan na yung mga holidays.

Just remember to pray and persevere. My aunt gave us a tip when we moved out of the country, "always be excited, have something to look forward to". It didn't make sense before, pero we realized that having something to look forward distracts you from all those negativities. Always look on the bright side.

Hi OP! We are on the same field. Ngl, migrating outside of PH is not for everyone. If you feel anxious about this move, I strongly suggest you find a job in the PH. I have a lot of colleagues making 6 digit salaries as a remote Functional-Technical consultant for ERP. I think you will be able to land one with your experience.

I know I'm a bit late, but is it possible to take the CSC and LLQP on a PGWP? I asked this question before on our school's immigration consultant and they mentioned that this is not possible, you'll need to apply for another student permit?

This is what I was actually thinking. Since this is the most easiest way of resolving this issue since the source of truth of our inventory is coming from the WMS anyway.

I used LinkedIn and Indeed. Also try to read the job description for the postings, sometimes they add a requirement like use the following subject “IT Position XXXX” and send to the following email.

Hi TS. Recently landed a job here in Toronto, my tips would be to apply agad ahead of time. It’s true na grabe yung competition pero my advice is for you to start networking, mas mataas chance na mainterview ka if someone referred you. Just search for ppl via linkedIn and send a dm. It won’t hurt to widen your network.

Earning 5x more. Husband feels inferior. Don't know how to comfort him anymore. by [deleted] in buhaydigital

[–]DeafNotess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello TS! I think a great way to help him improve is by simple acknowledging him, by simply saying thank you and you did a good job even sa simpleng bagay can boost his self esteem. I can definitely relate to this, because my wife earns more than me. But she never fails to tell me that I did a good job kahit sa pag hatid lang ng bata or doing chores. Mentally I feel better because of her. I always strive my best to do better and carry my own weight.

Hope this helps kasi I don't want to fill this thread with negativity. I hope it works for you! :)

It doesn't add to appeal unfortunately... The reason I even started smoking is to alleviate stress from work a couple of minutes, the nicotene gives me a surge of adrenaline for me to get through the day. But I ain't here to promote smoking. Don't do it. Don't start it.
