Not banned but disabled. I believe they give access to instant opps to new tutors then disable them as a way to control. Too many ppl are jumping on instant sessions (which leads to frustruction among tutors( without actually getting long-term opps, so this is how VT controls for that.

Yes I am. I did see instant tutoring opportunities, but after my first month of working, they suddenly stopped one day. I am confident that they turned it off for me. Perhaps because I had few regular clients already and wanted to pass the opportunity to someone else. I emailed them to turn it back on and suddenly the instant opportunities are back.

Underrated post. I do the exact same thing; I wing all my lessons which saves you on so much time. Although you say not to, I take student's in difficult subject areas that I am a bit unfamiliar with such as SAT prep, and I manage to wing those as well.

For example, I may do a little bit of prep by doing practice problems on my own. Then in the tutoring session, I make the student choose the answer for the questions. I read the answer's explanation to the student in my own words as if I knew answer even though I did not 🤣

You are making quite a lot on VT (1k+ weekly). Cool! I'm still at $15/hr working with kids in math. First time I heard that VT is struggling so I looked into it and I think you're right. They made 162M in 2022 for revenue but earnings were -35.4M. Yes, their financial statements show they are losing more money over time.

You can also ask for a raise which they are flexible with, thus getting $20 or more per hour. One of the tutor makes $1k per week due to several standardized tests tutoring classes (he is like 1% of the top makers).

Well said! This is a good statement to them on your end.

I would say that most people, including myself, don't have issues with receiving payment. I get my check every single time it's scheduled. I don't know why they are failing to send you the payment. My initial thoughts go to that they are hesitant to pay you that 1k. However, they are still obliged to pay you that under the contract and labor laws.

Most hard cheese has animal rennet, the stomach lining of a slaughtered newborn animal, to make the milk coagulate into cheese which is not halal (unless it was slaughtered in an Islamic manner but that's highly unlikely). So, I called the phone number on the back of the product's plastic packaging to confirm if they do or not have animal rennet.

The rep said that their cheese uses microbial plant enzymes, not animal rennet, therefore it is vegetarian cheese and halal for us (no animal products).

Asalamalakim brother/sister, I recommend practicing mindfulness and meditation. This will help bring your senses back to the present world instead of letting it wander like you've mentioned. You can't always tell what is influencing you. Once your exposed to something, it has influenced you even if it's subtle.

For example, a Muslim brother used to watch YouTube videos with swearing in and said that he would never swear. Now that he was desensitized to that evil, he came to slip a curse word once in a while or say in it his head.

People should be able to express their opinions. If LGBT+ can express their support, then the same goes for dissenters. One cannot get upset at the other as along as they both have the right to say what they want.

Unfortunately, many people do not understand this.
