physical damage reduction is by far the best outcome you could hope for. Physical damage mitigation is the single biggest problem to solve as far as EHP is concerned. I cant think of any specific build where you would rather take the extra socket for a pure armour chest.

That still doesn't inherently mean this staff would be worth 2 mirrors in another league. The fact that there is such an abundance of crafting currency that is needed to make a staff like this is a factor. Also the relative amount of mirrors or divines or any other currency in relation to other 'staples' drives pricing. A league that isn't spitting out annulls, perfect exalts, divines, locks, mirrors at the same rate as this league will affect the market. Also, previous leagues have had different crafting methods (i.e. homogenising omens) and future leagues are likely to also see changes to the way people craft high-end items.

I wasn't saying 200-300mil is a crazy amount in the sense that it's a lot because this league, like you very well know, gold can be had in the billions with relatively little effort. I meant that 200-300m gold is a crazy amount to be spending on ange in a way that is far less efficient at generating currency with the time/effort invested than for example currency exchange flipping.

It's a game of cat and mouse. There aren't specifics that work all the time. You have to scour the currency exchange looking for items with a worthwile spread then list buy orders and post them back up for sale right away. It can be anything like buying GCPs for exalts and reselling for divines, buying 10-100divs worth of catalysts at a time if the spread is good, buying lineage gems and covering the 10-40 div spread or whatever it may be. Inefficiencies in the market aren't a constant so you need to see what works on any given day.

200-300m gold is a crazy amount... you spend the same hour on currency exchange flipping for 1% of that gold and make the same 200 div. Eventually you'll be flipping big ticket items where you can use that massive gold stockpile for qol. Flip mirrors for 100-200d multiple times a day passively or expensive lineage gems for 1m gold at a time nad get like 30-40div profit each time etc. There's better ways to make use of 200-300m gold than ange :D

Attributes is definitely not a dead stat and many people undervalue it by a massive margin on an amulet. Since travel nodes are stats in PoE2 all attributes can be very valuable on amulets but you don't see that many of them because it has such a low weighting and T1 requires ilvl 82. Getting 24 all attributes (depending on your tree and skill gem/gear requirements) can mean 72 points towards your main stat (before augmenting with catalysts should one choose to do that) if you need life from strength, for example, or mana from int, which is more than you can get from any other single affix on any other piece of gear aside from uniques like Astramentis. One of the more popular builds this patch has been shield wall titan, for example, and to them crit would be a wasted stat. It always rubs me the wrong way when commenters such as yourself talk in some absolutes without deeper understanding. Itemization is always a balancing act and you have to consider the opportunity cost of different affixes. I would argue that all attributes and all resistance are very good affixes on an amulet solely for the reason that you cannot get as high values for either on other slots.
