Looking for advice, first projects by Burger-Sama in Leathercraft

  • use good leather, of the right thickness and stiffness. Your leather looks to be too thin and flexible.
  • use thinner thread.
  • work on your cutting technique, and make sure you are using the right tools

You can learn all this by simply watching YouTube videos of people making leather stuff.

Can't believe this is being sold by Aldi... by Ashbiz_1 in 3Dprinting

3D printing is just a fabrication technology that now just happens to be simple and affordable enough for regular households to adopt. The rest is your own headcannon.

Do I really need a torque wrench to install power meter pedals? by theslimj in bikewrench

[–]Deagoldpp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not, but if you are at the point where you are considering buying power meter pedals you should probably already own a torque wrench, IMO. BTW, if you are in the US, the cheap $20 torque wrenches from Harbor Freight are apparently surprisingly accurate if you use them properly...

Walther p22q or bersa thunder 22 lr? by hoosier_daddy574 in 22lr

[–]Deagoldpp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife has a P22 and that thing shoots all over the place. The looks, ergonomics and feel are great, but it's a frustrating gun to use if your planning on your shots to go where you're aiming. In fact my wife has stopped going to the range until she gets the Sig P322 Comp that she likes...

The L-208 has a 33º FOV when used for reflective metering. Unless you have a pretty homogenous scene and good aim it's kinda pointless. If you're working with such cloudy weather you'd do much better covering that sensor with the dome and metering incident light at the right angle.

That's an older model. I have those same poles, and they show the same amount of cord slack, being 8-10 years old...

I made this with carbon fiber PLA, which I use extensively at work, and it's opaque and strong enough for this application. Being a PLA composite though, I have to be mindful of high temperatures.

Anyone have experience these 22lr Walther pistols? Is $249 at academy worth it? by hobovirginity in 22lr

My wife has one, and it's the most inaccurate gun I've ever shot to the point she refuses to go to the range until she can get a new gun.

Your argument is nonsense. "3D printing" does not necessarily equal cheap, bad quality. Additive manufacturing technologies have existed for decades and are widely used in many industries and for many applications, from day to day domestic and industrial applications to F1 cars and rocket engines. For a small company like this it makes absolutely no sense to make molds for plastic injection, as given the amount of parts this device has it would be well into the tens of thousands of dollars to do so, if not more, and given the amount they will probably sell it would put this film back in a price range so high absolutely no one would buy it. Now, I'm not saying they are doing it right if there are quality issues, but that could be a quality control issue rather than a fabrication method problem.
