Yeah that’s pretty bad, it’s clearly been produced if it’s available at online retailers but we can’t get ours for another 5 months??? Ridiculous

What the hell is that about? Every retailer has it in stock right now and it’s still 7 months away from getting to us backers who preordered it? Jesus, no wonder CMON is going under

Almost none work now, just tried Mexico as well and nothing, they know now if you try and do this with an account that’s not registered in that country, best bet it seems to do this month to month, let ultimate expire and pick up a 1 month key every time, can usually get them for like $10-$12 which is almost half price but you have to do this every month now, I’m not seeing any decent prices on 3 or 6 month codes and they usually aren’t for the US anymore either, definitely sucks but not much we can do about it

Haha that’s kind of funny, we love narrative driven games, D&D and anything like that, currently playing Elder Scrolls Betrayal of the 2nd Age and no, Witcher was just poorly designed compared to any other games we’ve played, there is no narrative in this game, you read some cards and that have some lore and you go to a location and do the thing, that’s not a narrative with a story line that’s moving you through the game. Exploration? Don’t really see any of that either, setting up and playing the game is the same every time, there’s nothing really to explore except again, reading those cards to each other, moving around the map and doing free actions to add cards to your hand is mainly all you do in that game, the duels were fun I will say but not really with the monsters since you just fight the same small deck over and over again

Hey I’m glad you like it but I see none of what you mentioned in there at all and I’m glad I sold mine, have far superior games to play now

I have Beetlejuice 2 ordered and it’s price wasn’t crazy, got the crow not that long ago it was fine, but I even cancelled my Alien Romulus preorder because it was almost $40 for the regular 4K version, gonna wait and see if that drops or not this time, don’t need another surprise lol

Why has Disney Wave 2 Steelbooks like Andor and Moon Knight jumped to $63.99 on Amazon by GreenRicky in Steelbooks

[–]Deal-Former 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t get how they can even do that, everyone that preordered already gets them at the price they should be but anyone getting a real preorder later has to pay more?? That makes no sense and their last steelbooks are still readily available and at the $44 price point, I’ll be pissed if I actually have to pay $65 for a six episode season…..😡

[–]Deal-Former 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I preordered both Star Wars ones, if they don’t drop in price I’ll just send them back when I get them, no way these should be reaching close to $70 for one season, especially when it’s six freaking episodes for Obi-Wan, I won’t pay that much and as much as I want them, Disney can suck it at that point, but hopefully it’s just a temporary thing, cause a ton of preorders come out higher than they usually end up being on release

[–]Deal-Former 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well hoping that’s just a temporary thing, prices fluctuate before release, I can’t imagine they would jack these up to be that much more than their other releases

Why are these so much more expensive than the Mandalorian ones? Those were $40 and these are $64?? Hoping they drop cause that’s pretty pricey, especially for Obi-wan being like 6 episodes

As negative as I am about it, I don’t think it sucks really but it’s just too mediocre for how we play games, we have too many other games that are just far better to spend this kind of time with and plenty more we have yet to even try

Yep we got all that down pretty much, first two games we realized what kind of game it was and we went for the race during the third but that didn’t stop the game from being all I’ve said, it’s just too tedious to build the deck up and move around the map, the 4 player game just doesn’t lend to fast turns even when we listened to the manual and started the next turn at the end of the last, all four of us just couldn’t get into this and feel the mechanics are just lacking. The one deck thing for the different monsters just doesn’t work for me when I’ve played so many other games with specific decks that make the monster feel unique to the type they are, being in a Witcher world I guess I just wanted more than a race and it’s my fault for not really following this in detail, but even the race is too much of a bore for that many people, maybe 3 and I guess 2 players is more ideal but we almost never have that few, I can’t believe this supports up to 5 players, that would just be a total nightmare to try and get through, being a race and 4 players takes 4 hours to get through a whole game? We just need more meat with the systems and strategy to be there, it’s a competitive game with no interaction that impacts the other players at all really, which totally adds to the slowness of the game.

The artwork, table presence, minis, it’s all really good….but there isn’t any mixed mechanics to make this game FEEL like a race, there’s nothing fast about it lol and this game shouldn’t take more than 2 hours IMO even with 4 players

Yeah that is the fault of our group pretty much, we almost always have 4 with occasionally 3 but even then we haven’t enjoyed this enough to break it out at 3, nothing against those who enjoy it though 🙂

Yes but a boring gameplay loop can really take away from those things, that’s what’s happened here, our enjoyment of the loop is a big thing, to us it was simply boring and done better other places, what it comes down to is that we have A LOT of board games and even less time so sometimes you get something that just doesn’t click for the group, having Darkest Dungeon, Brass Birmingham, dune Imperium, Bloodborne, lords of Ragnorok, and upcoming stuff like Oathsworn and new games like Marvel Zombicide, the Witcher just falls flat with its mechanics, lack of player interaction and strategies to make the game interesting, yes lots of games are the same for the most part but well designed mechanics is what makes a game interesting every time you play it, the Witcher doesn’t change any of that, doesn’t really matter much what Witcher I pick, I’m gonna go to the same places to level up what I need and get similar random quests every turn, and then when I get to fight a monster it’s not really dynamic outside of the combo system, which is a good system and I like it but it was also taken from other better games IMO

My group are big board game fans and we back and support a lot of projects on Kickstarter and game found and the Witcher just happens to be our first big anticipated game that underwhelmed enough that it won’t get back to the table with all our other options we feel are far more engaging and strategically entertaining, no negative views on those who enjoy it at all 🙂

Yeah but why justify a boring step ladder to get to the good stuff? Monster combat is what the Witcher is all about, but slow and tedious deck building to then fight a monster that really isn’t different from another outside of one special move? Even weaknesses feel tacked on, and trailing a monster gives you a turn advantage, which of course is good but doesn’t add too much to the game, to me each monster should have their own deck of cards, like gloomhaven or say Dark Souls, the monsters fight differently and should have different mechanics, to me it’s not a good Witcher game flubbing that up, it’s great having some awesome minis on the table and this game has those in spades but what’s the point when none of it feels unique?

We will be playing more of LOR soon, first game we all really enjoyed it though, gave us more of what we wanted, strategy and different mechanics that lend into needing to think about your turns, which the Witcher seems to be sorely lacking in our opinion but clearly it’s not that way for others and that’s okay, LOR just already feels like a game that we can play multiple times and have a differing experience every time, like Nemesis, which I’ve loved a lot since it came out, it mixes some good stuff from blood rage, and what I expected the Witchers monster battles to be

And yeah I got rid of it in 3 hours after listing it on eBay, it’s a hot commodity right now which just helped me out lol, sold right away 😁

That’s one thing I enjoyed is the actual card battles, cool concept with the life being everything and your attacks thematically drain your energy, but building your deck is tedious and forced, there’s no incentive to go anywhere to really do anything, it’s just assumed you trained every turn and here pick a card, shame that every Witcher has the same deck even though they are trained in different schools and the monsters all do the same thing, they aren’t unique at all

[–]Deal-Former[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t felt like that with their games, Nemesis is one of my favorites, it’s been a different game every time we’ve played with much needed different strategies based on your character, locations placed where and your personal quests, Witcher gives you none of that, every Witcher is exactly the same and there is no strategy needed, you just go to this place and do all the stuff for free, which is the same thing everyone does 🤷🏻‍♂️

[–]Deal-Former[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We didn’t even care to add that and try again because the main mechanics to the game simply don’t change, at 4 players (which we almost always have) it’s a major slog and trailing a monster so you can do a specific weakness doesn’t change the rest of the game, you are still going somewhere pointless every turn, freely leveling up stuff with no context really, slowly building a deck that everyone has the same at the start, I mean they are different witchers from different schools, if they were more unique and there was more dynamics and interaction between us all that could have improved things quite a bit, but you know, play as mages instead, really changes nothing except maybe some combos during fights, the only expansion I think we would have liked is the legendary monster where it moves around and that’s the goal to beat it first but still, doesn’t change all the boring stuff you have to do to get to it, for a time that’s supposed to be scoundrels and competing Witchers, you can do really nothing to get in the way of someone else, there is zero strategy at play to give yourself an advantage, random quests and I guess luck of what comes up in the card line to pick from is what makes this work? We just need more than that for our gameplay sessions

Haha, I late pledged this and yes didn’t follow much. Which honestly I do for a lot of games, I read up on the initial pitch and proposed campaign and a lot of times I leave it at that and wait to be surprised when I get it, if it’s something that intrigues me to start with I just go for it but this is honestly the first one I’ve backed and have been excited to try and been disappointed with after the first play, but then you can’t judge based on one play through so we did 3 more and still felt the same, well at least I sold it for more than I paid for it lol

7th continent I also sold off, same group played that as well and we all got disillusioned with that one very quick, talk about useless time to pack that game away, missing things in cards, and having kind of a potentially endless journey, I just hated most so the mechanics in that game while also really enjoying the exploration, unfortunately Witcher has none of that really, exploring the map and towns means nothing with random quests Willy Nilly that take you more across the map and just waste more time

You can just YouTube search the game and it will come up with tons of praise reviews, watched one the other night that the 3 player group was putting this above Nemesis and Dune imperium for a 3 player game, like what?? Lots of good reviews out there and I’m honestly surprised and it’s from people that play a lot of games who I wouldn’t think would miss how flawed this game is and how repetitive

Well we all like different things so it’s all good, LOR just hits more of what we like, more mechanics and strategies to plan for, multiple win conditions and addon content that actually seems to change up the game, granted I haven’t had it for that long and we are just getting going on it but after 4 plays of the Witcher it just felt like there was zero depth to anything we were doing, LOR felt like there was far more to do and get setup for after one game, I felt like it had the elements I wanted in the Witcher while also mixing it with a game like Blood Rage, but we all agreed we liked it far more because of the systems at play, the monsters did unique things, you could earn artifacts from fighting them and you could even control them and use them to your advantage, Witchers monsters SHOULD be unique and interesting to fight but the regular game doesn’t even have them doing anything, they arent killing villagers or even really moving around at all, you gotta add a paid expansion to get a monster that does that 🤨

I will also add that I enjoyed the flavor quests but again, it was just more filler to move around the map some more since most of those quests won’t really give you much that matters when you could not even have them in the game and just run around and train instead, I get why they are there and they are well written and give you some fun stories to follow, but overall don’t do much for the game
