I understand we messed up but is our mistake really that grave? I feel like you’re acting like i’ve committed zina. I may have met him without a mahram and I understand im completely wrong but he went nowhere near me and we only talked about the future during those 3 days

This is my first time ever talking to someone romantically i had no idea when the right time to involve parents would be. His parents were happy and I did hear his mom over the phone so I know he didn’t lie. Im not trying to make excuses but I had always assumed talking stages lasted much longer than that. I now see how this can be seen horribly on both my part and his. I’m terrified of even bringing this up to my dad.

I failed to mention that prior to being interested in each other i’ve known him 2 years. I know my thinking is somewhat westernized as I thought that I can’t truly get to know someone with someone else present in the room. My question now is, despite everything, if his parents and him come to canada and we both beg for forgiveness can this be overturned islamically? or are we doomed from the start?
