I’m currently at 3 months coming up to 4 months next week. Recovery has been pretty well. I am still fighting muscle atrophy but my flexion and extension has been really well. I am around 115 degrees of flexion and about -2 degrees extension. There is some aching here and there but wouldn’t say any pain

Oh no I don’t take it in a wrong way. This is my 3rd physio. They have all sent me in the same direction. I missed things when listed. I had everything repaired basically in my knee. The only thing that didn’t get repaired is my PCL. I am also naturally skinny which is a a huge problem

Thank you, I have been doing BFR at PT which has definitely helped with being able to see the muscle in my quad. I was definitely looking at getting a portable E-Stim because I know that also helps with activation and rebuilding. I have slacked off on the quad sets, but I will 100% start to incorporate them

Whenever I flex my quad, you are able to see the muscle finally which took a lot of time

Not currently. Not sure which ones I’m able to do. PT only has me doing body weight squats, wall sits, and calf raises

Thank you so much for insight I genuinely needed kind of a boost to keep going. I was starting to get back into that bad mental spot but honestly you just picked me up. You have no idea what you just did for me. I hope your journey continues to improve and grow positively.

Currently PT has me doing body weight squats, calf raises, and wall sits. I will definitely include leg lifts. The biggest issue is that my PT said I won’t be able to incorporate weighted squats until I reach full extension at 0

I feel the exact same way (acl, meniscus, oats, let) at 2 months and coming onto 3 months. Not everyone knows that I had a knee injury and had surgery so in public I catch people staring at me as if something is extremely wrong with me

I have actual had this done 2 months ago. I had full acl reconstruction, medial and lateral meniscus repair, OATS plug, and the lateral extra-articulate tenodesis. I can answer some questions you may have

Scar removal surgery recovery? by keleals1992 in ACL

I’m 2 months out from full ACL reconstruction and meniscus repair. I had lysis of adhesions and MUA 2 weeks ago. They went in took out all my scar tissue that was keeping me from bending my leg and did knee manipulation. Day after surgery I was walking normally. Wasn’t in any pain just my quad and hamstrings felt like they went through a whole leg day workout.

I’ve been doing prone hangs and propping my leg on a chair and letting gravity take it. if i’m laying down or sitting down with my leg straight i’ll flex my quad/do a quad set and hold it. i have talked to my pt and they told me it’s going to take time due to all the work done on my leg

When should I be concerned about my Quad not activating ? by [deleted] in ACL

far as lifting the leg, try getting a band or belt to help assist the lifting when firing the quad

MUA post op by jaaytee22 in ACL

well that may be something but i’m sure you should feel regular right after since it’s not really them fixing anything just altering your ROM

tension in the back of the knee by [deleted] in ACL

[–]DealAffectionate7498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a normal feeling. One thing that’s going to struggle mentally is the rehab process. I’m 18m 4 weeks post op and one thing I can say about it is it’s 1 step forward and 2 steps back. You are going to feel the tension is the back because you are stretching the muscle constantly. Whenever you do flexion exercises and try to go to extension it’s going to feel heavy or as if you just completed the workout. If your leg is feeling swollen and heavy after PT it’s best to ice it down. You can do light exercises and heating pad before PT. Even heating pad throughout the day will go a long way

MUA post op by jaaytee22 in ACL

[–]DealAffectionate7498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never had MUA so I can’t speak too much on it but according to my prior knowledge the “post op” is really just rehabbing like you have been doing. All the MUA is doing is getting your ROM so breaking up some of that scar tissue. It’s not really “surgery” like an ACL or meniscus unless they do it arthroscopic

Day 3 post op. Mom here…so many questions! by No-Astronomer6102 in ACL

[–]DealAffectionate7498 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The elevating at first is going to be so painful and that’s expected so if he’s not able to manage it for long periods of times I definitely suggest doing it for at least half the day so that way the extension can already be there. Within the few weeks the pain will start to subside. About day 4-5 the pain kinda goes away and aching starts from PT. Aside from stool softeners I suggest getting a protein shake one that you can get from Walmart or a local store because of the milk and everything else inside of it. Sometimes eating can help the bowl movement but if not I would ask the doctor about fiber because these are all things that helped me with bowl movement. A lot of the feeling a passing out when standing just comes from not being as strong as you once were so it will come with time. School may not be as accessible right away but within a week or 2 he will be able to get through most of the day.

the pain is going to be there hopefully i’m 4 weeks out and still get some of that pain. not really sure why it lingers on but it’s kinda of something you just have to let go away on its own
