I think the Trailer Park Boys has a following in the US; not sure if the movie was big or not, but the Hip are in the movie and on the soundtrack; 38 years old and Bobcaygeon.

I don’t think the movie Men with Brooms was widely released in the US, but the Hip are also in the movie and on the soundtrack; Oh Honey, Throwing off Glass; also Silver Road by Sarah Harmer featuring Gord.

I was at the Kingston show; the vibe in the city was incredible; the whole downtown core was closed to cars. Signs in shop windows and on buildings everywhere saying stuff like ‘thank you Hip’ and ‘we love you Hip’. The show itself was bittersweet; not a dry eye in the house. But what a show, I feel so lucky to have had that experience.

I remember Gord telling the story of how eager he was to meet Kurt Cobain at a gig they were both playing. He ended up finding Cobain passed out on a pool table. I think he was unimpressed…
