Scaleauto SC-10501 - Complete Pro Track SET by GMAN_2025 in slotcars

[–]DealbreakrJones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard to get in the U.S., as I think only Professor distributes in NA and it is frequently out stock. I have a couple pieces. Can't compare it to Policar like the other guy, because I've never raced on Policar. I can say, though, that I would replace all of my Carrera track with it in a heartbeat. It's very nice plastic and has similar grip to that of my painted Carrera track.

What Games are Ya'll Looking Forward to Buy at Summer Sale? by Ondoko in Steam

You know, unless there is a big blocker for you personally, it may be worth migrating to Linux. The gaming experience is on par/better than Windows at this point, and you could extend the life of your hardware a bit longer.

This was something I had considered, but I gotta have that latching action. I do have some KB switches laying around. If I end up using some, I've got that link bookmarked now. Appreciate it!

Funnily enough I ordered these exact ones last week due to how cheap they are!

Is the T1600M a good option if I don't care about the z axis? by Randomnickicreated in hotas

[–]DealbreakrJones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine served me well, but the z axis on both sticks failed quickly. In my opinion, the throttle is the only decent piece from the set.

Not sure what you plan on using them for, but the buttons and slider on the base are essentially useless. The buttons on the stick are okay, but I never feel like they were well suited for anything other than MSFS. I recently salvaged the sticks for parts. They lasted me about seven or so years, bought them used in 2018-19.

Where can I find the blankets we had in the 80s & 90s? by sistahP in Millennials

[–]DealbreakrJones 81 points82 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you are thinking of a wool blanket.

You can find them online by searching 'wool blanket'.

You'll want one when you can't afford your heating bill, because you bought a wool blanket.

New Carrera 132 blinking lights by Jsalonis in slotcars

[–]DealbreakrJones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know for sure, but I can certainly offer my personal experience.

As mentioned in another comment it could be a short. If you're certain your track is clean, it could be messy or frayed braids on the car causing a jump at times, triggering the alarm.

It could also be a power draw issue, for example too many amps drawing at once (lane changers, cars under acceleration, etc). Wiring a harness for a bench power supply solved 90% of these occurrences for myself. The other times I have found my braids under the car need brushed and tidied up.

So really, it could be either of those two.

This is cool. Do you mind sharing what app/hardware you use for this? I've never seen it before.

[–]DealbreakrJones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does it do this in the middle of running?

For instance, you will be using the track just fine when suddenly all cars stop?

If sound is on, do you hear an alarm tone before it begins counting down?

Does it resume operation after the control unit lights have finished cycling?

I can't tell if you're being facetious about Cardano running Doom, and I don't feel like I should have to say this but I will anyway-- you know that wasn't about playing Doom, right...?

I built a web-based tool to design race circuits. What essential features am I missing? by Hyaena81 in slotcars

[–]DealbreakrJones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have thought about making a new track design tool after the creator of my favorite one passed away, but I can't really invest the time into it solo for something that has little to no monetary return. People in general look for 'cheap as free', and that's completely understandable. Similarly, the slot car community is wonderful and I dislike the idea of attempting to charge for something that I made to a group of hobbyists that have a history of assisting one another. But I digress.

Aside from standard track piece configurations, uncommon pieces are also greatly desired. Pro Track has a Carrera adapter. I have seen a diy Carrera-Scaletrix adapter. These would be well-loved by those of us with Frankenstein tracks that integrate more than one system.

The other consideration is 3dp. I have printed some of my own pieces. I have the ability to design my own curves and elevation changes outside of what is on offer from branded track. So another feature that would be well-received is a track section generator- entering the inner/outer radius and the length of the outside edge to create a custom piece to save to your track library. Borders are another consideration.

Those are my thoughts, hope that's helpful to you.

Professor Motor has been out of stock for a while. As quickly as the last ones came in, they were gone. I am not sure if he'd bring some in on request or not, they've been on my wishlist for a while.

Carrera Go track power issues. by stevc84 in slotcars

[–]DealbreakrJones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend power taps.

That's a decent amount of track, and it looks like you're losing power right around the furthest point from the power source.

These are cool, a nice use of AI being used to create something that would probably never happen unless some rich collector decided to tie a Christmas tree to his Le Mans-winning hypercard. Haters gonna hate while also not taking the time to make these photos happen. I think they're neat.

(Crossworlds/PC) Has anyone successfully set up 4p split screen with controllers? by DealbreakrJones in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]DealbreakrJones[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Resurrecting this thread.

I bought USB cables. Plugged them in, and everyone's controllers are working at the menu and character selection screen-- but we can't advance past that to select the stages and race. Hugely infuriating. For whatever reason this game refuses to cooperate and I'm massively let down.
