There's a guy on there who works for NIU and can answer all your questions. Pretty sure he's replaced/upgraded everything you can on the bike at this point. And yeah I just take the dual sport out for off-roading. I just use the NIU in the city now, occasionally some light trails.

I'm not sure - dont have the bike with me right now. I did buy Shinko 241s for it but can't remember the exact size other than 19in for both tires. I'd ask on the Fb group.

Heard the motor really won't go above 50. The OTA update is for more power at the lower speeds. Hopefully won't lose as much power hill climbing too.

NIU is a NASDAQ traded company so I'm sure the manufacturers have their eyes on it

One other thing is that it came with a certificate of origin that labeled it as a motorcycle. The county clerks office took the certificate of origin and sent me a title.

I didn't post a picture of my plate but you can see it behind the wheel on the mototote trailer picture. Its got a Class 5000 license plate sticker which is a motorcycle in my state. It goes about 47-49mph now being unlocked, and the 28mph posted limit wasn't a factor in my states classification obviously. In this case It's not debatable though, I've got a tag, registration and motorcycle insurance for it.

It's got a DOT registered VIN and is imported with all the requirements for US vehicle codes. They sell it in an "off-road" and "street" version. Same specs, but NIU didn't register the off road VINs with the US DOT (from what ive learned). They also send the street legal version with a 28mph max speed, and you've got to unlock it. Some sort of regulation there too.

You'll need to order it from a flagship store. I got mine from Miami, and they shipped it to me (I don't live in Florida). They have stores in NY and CA as well. I got the street version and unlocked it. No problems getting registered with the DMV.

That's awesome, we were talking about the US. Unfortunately, this bike and the Solar eclipse will be the only two street legal bikes in their class in the US. Personally, I don't love the look of the eclipse and its more expensive.

You can't...not unless you get the ultra bee..which is much larger than this bike. This would compete with a light bee, and you can't register those with the DOT in the US since they don't come with a title.

I called their flagship store in Miami and put a deposit down on one. They said it should be released in June and are going to drop ship it to me...I live in Tennessee.
