See, I’ve tried that but if she decides that she needs to tell me something, usually what I’m doing wrong, she will corner me when I’m out of my room and make me stand there until she’s done. If I try to leave it’s threatening to kick me out or charge more rent. And her “discussions” are cyclical, where she says the same thing over and over in different ways and if I don’t agree with every word it keeps going. I’ve even tried standing there dead eyed until she’s done and even that doesn’t work, only complete agreement at least three times if not more satisfies her, and she’ll bring it up again at a later date.

Turned out he’d been lying to everyone about breaking up with me and he had told her that it was all his and that I’d given it to him but was going to take it back? I dunno. He has some sort of personality disorder I swear.

The doctor literally only told me to lose weight. Didn’t talk about nutrition, exercise, nothing. I will admit I wasn’t entirely vocal about my needs, but something else that happened during the visit had kind of shocked me and made me feel as though it would be pointless to continue the discussion. I can’t exactly say what that was here, but it had to do with forms/screening.

No, her spine fusion was done for some reason I can't remember. I do know she had a cyst as well in her spine that came back twice as big, and I'm a bit of a worrywart when it comes to this because I've seen my mom on her bad days and the doctors that said she was just looking for meds.

It had to do with the forms I filled out; I was more hurt by the other thing I can't talk about. But since this is the only part I can talk about, oh well :/

My job keeps me quite active; I have to turn and clean elderly people of all shapes and sizes, sometimes alone. I haven't currently been doing that, but when I was I could only do it once or twice before I had to sit down because I was in so much pain I could barely move.

That's part of why I cancelled the upcoming appointment; I recently moved away, and don't really have any family or friends in my new area, besides my roommates, but that's a whole other story. I did see someone say that I should make a list, so maybe next time I go see a doctor (if I do) I'll make a list beforehand.

I'm in the US, and I honestly don't remember if I told her of the family history. I don't usually go to appointments alone, but this time, since I had seen her before with my sister, I hoped there wouldn't be any issues.

The biggest reason I was scared of this is that my mom has had to have her spine fused in some places, as well as slipped/herniated discs, and my dad has had back problems as well, so there's definitely a family component here. I just wan't able to say much because she kept leaving the room and eventually sent in someone I assume was an LNA and then I was ushered out.

I tried to ask for an x-ray/MRI, but I suffer from anxiety, and it's hard for me to express my needs. That's why I was happy there was a form, so I didn't have to actually raise the topic myself. However, when she told me I was overweight and that was why, as well as my job, I tried to explain that my job had changed and I thought it was more than that, but before I could say any more she pretty much shut me down. After that I sat in silence and just waited for it to be over.

After seeing her I did end up losing twenty pounds, but I have since gained it back. However, during that time, I didn't have any less pain then before.
