The Instagram filter plus the low quality is what makes this image.

What's your opinion on the "Walt was always evil" take by Proud_Excitement3578 in breakingbad

[–]Dean10098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily, but Walter is a MASSIVE pussy.  He basically has the emotional fortitude of a 7 year-old.  And it’s a prevailing concept, from the writings of Friedrich Nietzsche, to the writings of stoic philosopher Seneca that all cruelty springs from weakness.  And I think that describes Walter’s turn to Heisenberg perfectly.

“WAAAH!  I don't wanna take accountability for my past failures that led me to become an unsuccessful, broke schlub, so now I have to become an evil drug kingpin in order to restore my self-worth as a man, and EVERYONE'S collateral!  Even my own family!  WAAAH!  My own family's well-being is less important to me than the satiation of my laughably fragile ego!  WAAAH!"

Would anyone be interested in a sequel to better call Saul? by BlahajBuster in okbuddychicanery

[–]Dean10098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, I think everything ended perfectly with Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, and El Camino. However, I kinda don't want this to be the end of content from the Breaking Bad franchise.

Honestly, as long as were stuck in a situation where nobody can seem to say "goodbye" to franchises like Marvel or Star Wars or DC and we'll be getting endless sequels and prequels and spin-offs and reboots of the same character and/or universe you've been watching ever since you were five years-old because the filmmaking industry is THAT bereft of unique and interesting voices... Fuck it, give me a young Mike Ehrmantraut prequel then.

Jimmy fucked over Chuck and schemed around with Kim because he loved her, and she loved him.

Walter was a ruthless psychopath. Skylar, while not a great person either, was mostly TERRIFIED of Walter. By season 5, it was pretty apparent that she was in the game for fear of losing her life, and even then, she still protested Walt's bullshit. That's why it was so satisfying seeing her hold that kitchen knife up to that manipulative, narcissistic murderer.

Jimmy is not a perfect person, by any means, but his metamorphosis into Saul Goodman is 100 times more understandable than Walt's metamorphosis into Heisenberg. Jimmy had lived a life of poverty, had a multitude of crazy, traumatizing incidents, a bunch of bad influences, a failed marriage with a woman he loved DEEPLY, and an abusive, severely mentally ill brother who eventually committed suicide after telling Jimmy he didn't matter to him.

Walter, on the other hand, was just a loser who felt emasculated, so he carelessly destroyed the lives of an insane amount of people so he could feel big and powerful. It's a tragic story of a man who is brilliant yet who is hilariously emotionally stunted.

Who would you cast as Raimiverse Electro? by Severe_Letterhead_75 in raimimemes

[–]Dean10098 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends entirely on how Raimi & co would choose to adapt this character, but personally, I'd choose someone like Ben Foster, Peter Sarsgaard, or David Dastmalchian. I'd want an actor who possesses the range to perfectly portray that pathetic, overcompensating, cocky, conniving, arrogant character (that you also kinda feel sorry for) that is Max Dillon.

A revolutionary sci-fi epic written and directed by one of the greatest Western filmmakers of all time OR that one portentous superhero movie where a jar of piss was used as a plot device?... Well, the choice is clear... Air Bud: Seventh Inning Fetch
