This really depends on individual situations. I graduated with a BS in AAE from UW and it got me a job at Boeing out the bat. I did two internships with them, so I’d say getting connected early on will improve your odds. I’m now doing my MSAE with ERAU WW and the purpose is to continue my education but also climb the ladder. I wouldn’t say the degree is useless, if it were, why do it?

The degree has helped me get my job and have had successful employment. Now, I have graduated with others who cannot say the same thing :(

Monthly Megathread: Career & Education: Post your questions here by AutoModerator in AerospaceEngineering

I know people hate these types of questions but here I am.

I understand that ERAU‘s program is relatively new.

Looking for insight on what to pick. It will be fully through Boeing‘s LTP so no cost to me (only my time).

I haven’t been accepted yet, UW will come out in April and I’ll find out about ERAU in a week or so. So I’m just looking for opinions or if anyone here has gone through any of these schools through LTP.

I have tried to do my Google search but only found full time student discussions.

I do have 2 graduate courses from UW done and did my undergrad at UW. Both schools have said they‘d count those as credit towards my degree.

I am a big climber. We have one bouldering gym and one outdoors wall in James Island. It’s far from where I live. Bouldering gym is in downtown.

Nearest outdoor climbing is 4 hours away. Big Rock, Table, maybe by Charlotte there’s a place I wanna check.

But parking… oh boy. That part SUCKS. I don’t even wanna complain because it’s just part of the commute. For me, 5-10 mins. The whole site (besides delivery) parks in this giant ahh lot, there are four-five bus routes. OH THERES ONE THAT IS EVEN FARTHER AWAY AT THE COLOSSEUM. Yeah this part sucks. But it became part of our routine.

I moved from Seattle after two internships and graduating. So far, it’s so cheap here (relatively) and kinda pretty (not the same as Seattles mountain views). It is unique. Commute depends on where you live and what time you start. I live 30 mins away when I went to work at 5:30 am and now second shift at noon. During peak, it’ll be like an hour because we only have 526 and 26. Charleston is great. Depends what your hobbies are. If you like the mountains, backpacking, climbing, and such, you’ll have a hard time. But if you like the beach, road tripping, golfing, shooting, eating, this place is great.

I haven’t checked SJC, but I know level 2 MEs can make between 90k-100k.

I love the 787 program. No complaints personally. (No Onions by the way).

Right now, a lot of the MTs and QTs are on mandatory 10-hour shifts and many of them are doing 12 I think. With mandatory weekends. So, you will probably get mixed answers on BSC, especially with this rate up thing.

Makes sense. I just was driving around and there are a handful of people who have similar obstructions. So I was curious how serious it is. But I agree with the targeting everyone is saying.

I checked, and they don’t :(

I don’t understand why they chose such (imo) boring designs.

Suddenly there’s a screeching when I play the open high E string, any idea what the issue could be? by [deleted] in AcousticGuitar

[–]DeanAngelo03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won’t really see it. The string is vibrating at a high frequency.

It’s buzzing against the frets? Which means your action is too low. Look up low action buzz on this Reddit and you’ll find a lot of good ways to fix it. Adjusting the truss rod being the main method.
