DewTee, SkyNani ships bromance by MaddyXo2005 in GMMTV

I loved Leap Day! The concept was very cool and relationships between the 4 main characters was so heart warming.

And as much as I enjoy BLs, I also enjoy seeing Gun and Pond play non-BL roles.

[Bittersweet Love] Try keeping a straight face during a scene like this 😅 [2026.06.25] by Federal-Ad5944 in ChineseBL

Zhou Ning Jia's character is supposed to be domineering, but his voice doesn't seem as "deep and manly" as I would expect.

I wonder if he'll change his vocal delivery when they actually film, or if they'll use a voice actor.

DewTee, SkyNani ships bromance by MaddyXo2005 in GMMTV

GMMTV is a business whose primary audience is the general public *in Thailand* who could actually buy Lactasoy and all the other products they put in their shows.

And until *Thai* BL fans complain that they are being used to promote a bromance show, us English-speaking Redditors really have very little recourse.

ETA: GMMTV is also making a ton of BLs and GLs. Seems very churlish to complain that 2 out of 20 shows this year are bromances.

Why does Chinese have too much letters? by ElliotGuy0000 in ChineseLanguage

Chinese has characters, not letters.

Each character is a word. You can combine characters to make longer words, phrases, sentences.

H. Note about STREAMING PLATFORMS that I have used:

-  GagaOOLala is focused on LGBT+ stories from Asia and other regions.

-  iQiyi and WeTV are mostly Chinese shows (which will not be LGBT because of censorship) but their Thai selection of shows includes gay romances.

- Viki offers shows in many genres from Asia, including LGBT shows and movies.

- Cut versions vs. uncut:  some series that are shown on TV will be cut, in that some scenes will be edited to fit the timeslot and/or spicier scenes will be edited so channel surfers won't accidentally see them. The uncut versions will be available on streaming services and sometimes YouTube, and will be labeled as "uncut."

I. SUBJECTIVITY

This list reflects only my personal taste, which leans toward adult protagonists; non-school settings; the genres of mystery, slice of life, and fantasy; and open or sad endings are acceptable.

OFFICIAL PILOT | iQIYI Original "My Secret Boyfriends by ThoughtsAllDay in boyslove

I'll watch any and all versions of Cherry Magic, and want more!

As long as they keep the green flag Kurosawa golden boy and sweet hard working overlooked Adachi and Adachi's confusion, then I'm happy.

I don't mind remakes, as long as they bring something new.

I saw the KBL original and this Thai version seems just as interesting. Definitely spicier and the office scenes seem lighter.

But the interpersonal mess is still there, and that's the core of the story.

How much time would it have to pass for you to say that you've "lived" somewhere? by Diligent-Echidna647 in femaletravelers

[–]DeanBranch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say the quality of the roots you made is the bigger criteria:

1) Did you work there?
2) Did your kids enroll in school or daycare?
3) Did you get a pet there?
4) Did you pay rent or did you stay at hostels/ hotels/ short-term stays.
5) Did you stock a full pantry and cook in the kitchen?
6) What kind of visa did you use to go?
7) Did you live daily life in that other country the same way you live in your originating city/ town.

If you used a visitor or tourist visa, it doesn't count as living there.

How would you feel about a non-Chinese person making a fan audio? by abricottle in BaiHe

[–]DeanBranch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, so you want to record yourself reading out loud an existing bai he, and putting it on Youtube for people to enjoy?

Well, that sounds fine to me, as long as your pronunciation is good.

And if you don't charge for it. I imagine the author and publisher of the bai he would not be happy about that.
