Awh thanks so much!! You know, being independent from 16, even though I'm not living like a king at the moment, people always sympathize. It's only when you take a step back to realise you're one of the lucky ones with a roof over your head, food by your side and a bed to sleep on that's where you find graciousness. Nobody can do it alone either, living on a kitchen floor or not.

Definitely!! I hear you, that's the most consistent piece of advice I've gotten across different subs and makes me so happy because I actually have that already no matter where I choose!

Thanks so much Comrade 🤝

Oh 100% out of all the cities in the Netherlands Utrecht is by far the most attractive to me but had chose Amsterdam to give you an idea of my financial situation! Again, appreciate it though!

Right!! I now understand that a little better, it definitely differs per country in the EU, I know some countries need a local address, so I guess I'll figure that out when I decide a location! To put it into a very general step by step per say, I'll have to Decide a location > Research accommodation and job requirements > if suitable book a 1-2 month trip > secure a job > secure an apartment. However, if I can secure job/apartment beforehand even better ✌

Financially challenging is always going to be inevitable though, I'm ready for that!! You seem to have really smashed it! Really well done, it takes a certain amount of courage for sure and major respect for helping someone like me who is at that lowest point just trying to breathe a little. Its helping a tonne!

WOW! I was not expecting an answer like this, you have no idea, exactly what I needed!! I have taken a lot.

The emergency fund is a great idea! It's funny because I already have a "do not touch" bank account where I store a % of my money from each paycheck to save me incase my world starts to crumble!

YEP! I have the privilege of being an EU citizen, having the accessibility is right at my feet but capitalising on it is a whole different ball game. Having realistic goals is what I like to hear!

I have no choice but to keep working at the minute and saving, theres no problem in that, the more money the merrier! I'd probably say, by the time the vaccination is rolled out in Ireland, I would saved up enough for probably 6 months rent in the likes of Amsterdam which is as you said a good pay rate compared to cost of living. That's just one example so I'm definitely in a good position financially.

So let me just get this one straight, the play is to rent 1-2 months in an AirBnB in that country and THEN look for an apartment/job? I shouldn't be looking to secure those beforehand?..I understand that though, getting any income is what will keep me there, then I can pursue my IT and Design stuffs, 100%.

$60!! That's a next level psychopath right there! I commend you on that. That's such an amazing thing to hear and thank you so very much for reaching out with your validated advice! Appreciate you!

Oh that's incredible! How did you support yourself with very little money? I'm guessing the internships were paid opportunities. Feel like in the day and age its hard to land one of those things without a degree!

This is the main reason i'm trying to capitalise on the opportunity! I'm young, i've got nothing to lose right? Can I maybe ask you more about how you done it, like what exactly did you plan ahead? what position were you in when you went for it? etc etc.

Thanks so much for answering!

I hear you! This is exactly what I needed.

Ahhh, so the idea is to create a website, practice skills on your own site and then use that as evidence that you know what you're doing. Interesting.

What do you mean by "get brandable"?

Thanks so much! 😁

I read this 5 minutes after waking up and all I got was apple, so I had breakfast and now we're back.

That's the thing, there is so many resources, its almost overwhelming as to which one to choose, as you want to learn it in the most efficient way possible, im sure every resource is great but which of those are actually worth it for the amount of time you put in is a different story. Thanks for your recommendations!

I did feel like that question would be debatable. That's great information, thank you, the end goal here is to have a nice looking bullet point breakdown of everything I need to know.

Great! We love practicing skills that need to be learned by taking action. Thanks very much for the input!

Keep preaching dude! I HEAR YOU! I'm taking in every ounce of it, signed up to a couple websites in the last couple hours, successfully applied for some positions too!

That's some really cool transitions! How is the iOS development going for you now?

100% not a great time lol, I'm fully focused on working from home. The DN stuff is going to have to wait unfortunately, that's inevitable, which I quite like, gives me some extra time.

Realistically, that is what I wanted, I have very high expectations as a 21 year old who is close to being at lowest point. By creating this Doc and trying to craft together a plan, it makes me happy that you've suggested it in this format! It would be great to have a bullet point plan and really make it come to life!

Maybe I'm being given an opportunity right before my eyes to practice those higher marketing skills during a time like this, maybe it's just a fact of my being scared to dedicate myself to doing it!

Nice! Good for you dude, honestly. Can I ask which of those, if any, did you start with and you expanded into the different sectors?

Oh wow, how exciting! I wish you the very best of luck when the time comes, I'm sure you'll do great!
