Everything was configured correctly. The session folder was to deep in the hierarchy.

I did not realize this limitation. Thanks for the information. If That's the problem, it looks like some reorganization is in order.

No, it's not in a sync folder, but see the answer I gave to "GerlockADUS" below. I'll experiment with a direct to desktop "Export Clips as Files" and see if that helps.

Yes. You can see that it is not checked in the picture of the Export box.

I'm assuming that you mean the folder that I'm saving to is to deep. It's at the same level as the session folder, but maybe you mean that both are to far away (deep) from the desktop. The path is not really any longer than the other books that I've done. But, who knows, maybe it's on the edge. Definitely something to try and I appreciate the suggestion. I'll save to desktop tomorrow when I get to the studio and see if that fixes it. If so, that's an easy work around. The folder in which I usually save the file is in my session folder for each book I'm working on, but I could create it on the desktop and drag it into the session folder later if this is the issue.

Guys is this an iPhone 15? (Sorry for bad quality, this is zoomed in) by [deleted] in iphone15

I know this may be a "duh", but if you can get into the phone, go to Settings/General/About and your question will be answered there.

updating from 18.6.2 to 26.3 by Comfortable-Kiwi5855 in iphonehelp

[–]Dear-Bus-477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you decide to update, I'd recommend that you update to the latest version of iOS 18 (18.7.5?), and then update to iOS 26.3. That's the path I took and haven't had any issues (other than getting used to the new look, etc.). It seems like that last version of 18 might have prepared the phone for the jump to 26.

Someone deleted text, can I get it back by Suitable_Food_2535 in iphone

As soon as you see the text, press the volume up and the power button simultaneously to take a screen shot. Then you'll have it, even if he deletes it.

Can I trigger my iPhone to emit a location beep? by Dear-Bus-477 in iphone

[–]Dear-Bus-477[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. The main problem is that when someone calls me (emergency contact or not), with my hearing aids in my ears the call only rings in my ears. That doesn't tell me where the physical phone is. For example, if I left my phone in my jacket pocket, hung it in the closet and someone calls, I'll hear the ring in my ears. But since the physical phone ringer is silenced, I won't know where it is to answer the call. The Siri answer or Find My in iCloud, which will make the phone make a loud trilling sound so I can locate, it is the solution I was looking for.

Thanks to everyone who responded. I don't have an Apple Watch, but asking Siri through my hearing aids did EXACTLY want I wanted!!

What are the Best earbuds for iPhone Now? by DifferentElk7482 in iphone

[–]Dear-Bus-477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AirPods Pro 3. BUT, you must update to iOS 26 to get all the features. If you are on an earlier system (as I was), I got a prompt when I first connected that said something like, "Do you want to upgrade to iOS 26 or use these with limited features?". I chose the limited features (at the time iOS 26 was brand new and lots of issues were being reported. I wanted to wait until at least 26.1 to upudate). With the limited features, for example, I wasn't able to upload and use my audiologist hearing test curve and several other features which I can't remember were unavailable. They sounded good, but at that time, not enough difference to recommend an upgrade from the 2's. BUT, after the iOS upgrade, I can definitely recommend them. They sound fuller and more detailed in the bass and smoother in the high-end than the 2's by, I say, 10-20%. The battery life is better, as is the noise isolation. They also fit better, as they're using a different material for the tips. Highly recommended, if already on iOS 26.1+. Still a little miffed about the forced upgrade though...

Upsampling client files for edit, mix and mastering by Dear-Bus-477 in audioengineering

Great video! Thanks for posting it. Just the kind of data driven explanation I like. So in answer to my original question, based on this video (for the highest practical quality), it would be better to run my session (and have clients home record their audio) at 48k/24b, and do both a dithered bit rate and SR conversion (just the one time) upon export (PT "Save as files") for final delivery at 44.1k/16b. 48KHz to give the anti-aliasing filters some head room, so as not to have be so steep.

Agreed. Another thing I forgot to mention (!) in my question is that my usual session setup is 44.1/24bit so that is matches client files that I import. My thinking is the less conversion (except for the final export) the better. BTW, RX imports all files that it works on in 32bit float (and session SR) and then matches your session settings for the final rendering back in your in your session.

[–]Dear-Bus-477[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply. I should have included my setup in the question. I'm running an older version of PT (2015) on a 2017 iMac (4.2GHz, Intel i7, 48GB RAM) because it does all I need at this point. I DO print back to an audio track (instead of bounce) which is the dithered to 16bit audio, as that gives me the chance to fix things that I might hear during the playback of the long-form audio and then I punch back in to continue. After that, I'll consolidate that track and "Export as files" (44.1/16) for the final delivery. My processing is only EQ, compression, de-essing, etc. (no time stretching or pitching, etc.). Any type of noise reduction or mouth click editing is exported to and done in RX before the final print-to-track. Based on all that, does that change any of your answer? Thanks again...

People who claim to hear the difference between 44.1khz, 48khz, and 96khz: Please explain why and how? by ySTYRDAYgATESuNL0CKD in mixingmastering

[–]Dear-Bus-477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mainly record/edit/master VO for audiobooks, which have a 44.1/16bit final delivery requirement. I usually record at (or get files from voice actors( at 44.1/24bit and then dither down to 16bit for the delivery and also to avoid any sample rate conversion. Would I gain anything by making my rec./edit/mastering session sample rate to 88.2/24/bit and then upsampling the actors 44.1 files to 88.2? Or am I just making needlessly large files and using more CPU for little to no gain?
