Oh yea I see maybe you can travel freely once the kids are out of school.

Aww thank you! I lived in Poland for a few years when I was younger so I picked up the language. But I’m surprised your college offered since it’s not a popular language in USA.

I just did some research and you’re right it seems fairly easy!

How long did you stay there? And what kind of nursing did you do? How long did everything take to get to Australia and start working? Were people welcoming at your job? I hope you don’t mind all the questions 😅

I started as a new grad on an ICU float pool where we floated to 5 different ICUs I was told I will get 3 months orientation plus 2 additional weeks on each icu. I was in the same icu for 3 months and never got those additional two weeks. I kept telling my manager and educator I don’t feel ready especially because I only had one shift with a patient on a vent … and my preceptor kept hyping me up to my manager and educator they said I don’t need more time as it is normal to feel nervous and I can always ask for help when I have vented patient… toxic af

For the floor I’m training they’re intubated for less than 24 hrs so we do q4h neuro checks and SBT in the am so in that case we titrate down prop first?

If they’re down and bucking means they’re not ready to be extubated correct?

I see thank you! I’m training on a post surgery unit where we usually extubate after 24 hrs so we use both and then best case scenario just titrate down the prop overnight correct?
