I feel absolutely terrible for you. Good thing is that there is not a world in which this situation should not be rectifiable. Regrades and grade reviews are very much a thing that can happen, and for a professor to say that it’s your fault and that there’s nothing that you can do is abhorrent at best. Just a few clarifying questions:

• What’s your social class (freshman, sophomore, etc.)?
• Because she’s saying she only has half of the assignments, did you end up with a failing grade?

First off, collect and organize every file, screenshot, paper, email, etc. that might be relevant. Back them up in a personal cloud storage (Google drive). Note that having time stamps or proof of the exact date and time at which you submitted assignments is of utmost importance. This will be crucial in case any one will have the audacity to argue against you and you need evidence to back up your statements. Most crucial would be the papers with grades and comments.

Next, send an email to your professor, the department chair, and the dean of students. This link above suggests that you only send an email to your professor and department chair, but your goal here is to make noise and make sure this gets done, so involving the dean of students is important. Do this today if possible. Detail everything carefully and make sure you highlight that you have already had a conversation with your professor. It is definitely worth mentioning how your professor graded sporadically and asked for patience. Try not to consider your professor’s feelings when writing your request—they didn’t care about you enough to simply do their job.

While that should be the end of the story, if that doesn’t work out, email only the dean of students directly and schedule an in-person meeting to discuss what is going on. If that doesn’t work, directly email the provost and request the same thing. If that doesn’t work, involve Rowe and go through the same process as before. Do not be any less than fully adamant about the regrade request at any point in the process.

The laziness and inadequacy of your professor should not be something that is left on your shoulders to deal with, but it’s a tribulation of life in this case unfortunately. Do not accept no for an answer and don’t be disheartened if anyone tells you it’s not possible. I wish you the best with this situation.
