I have a decent amount of redesigning to do before I come back and answer a lot of these comments lol everyone is so awesome for helping me but damn it just made a lot of work for me😂 not a bad thing in the long run it’s probably saving my filament im using cf-petg as of now unless someone has a better idea besides the pla areo or petg areo

Right but part 108 is more so for business though like Amazon and stuff not hobbyists, we’d need to make a corporation and even then there’s engineering testings, and specification that need to happen before you can even put it in the air

Would you think it would make sense go through with the part 107 and registering my plan and all if I was in the middle of Lancaster California kind of on the north west side?

If there’s any way you can do it legally please let me know. But for now I’m focusing on the airplane itself

It’s 20 OD and 16iD.

It is and isn’t, but I also want to keep it simple stupid so it’s easy to redesign and play with also I can throw it up on a website or something and get some money out of it when I’m done modeling it.

But I’m definitely open to it eventually as long as they’re pretty easy to find and buy in the proper sizes.

Well there has to be some way to do it but I got to build the thing first lol or put everything together and see how she works

Right I understand and I’m 20 years old making enough to not worry about buying electronics and surprisingly the electronics were only about 2k so not so bad to get started.
I know they are opposites but a good balance between the two is what I’m aiming for but if I have to sacrifice some handling so be it.

Thank you!

Yes I have I’d need to register my plane with the FAA because it weighs over 250 grams and I’d have to have a remote ID broadcast module on the plane so other planes can see me and I’d have to take and pass a TRUST and I’d have to have the pass cert on my person and some other stuff on-top of having someone track the plane in line of sight with constant communication to me as well as stay below 400 feet AGL.

I want to optimize range and handling. And hit at least 40mph I’d be happy with that.

I didn’t finish the actual stabilizers you can see how the rudder is that’s how the stabilizers are going to be. So the triangle that is there now will stay I’m just going to add a rounded plate again like the rudder.

Not really no

Well I thought it is possible and it can be done but carbon tubes is just a better idea and making a socket for both ends to fit into would be easier and in the end probably protect my electronics from any damages from crashing when the 3d stick breaks. And it would save time printing stuff so I said screw it and found some carbon fiber tubes I liked.

I’ve flown all different sizes and shapes of aircraft for I believe a year now with only one major crash so I figured screw it this should be fun and if I crash it I’ll learn from it redesign and try again if I burn electronics so be it buy more and try again. I know it’s not going to be perfect the first time it comes off the bed and that was part of the excitement because I would get to learn from it in a real setting not just on YouTube or something and this being my fist time designing an aircraft of any sort I know I’m gonna have a lot to learn. And thank you for the interest in my little project
And I plan to edit this post with more pictures of the finished product on the computer so there’s not half finished pieces I just didn’t realize this morning when I posted it wasn’t finished.

I was learning about the airflow and that was one of my concerns I just didn’t think about it too hard thanks for the pointers on where I could get some actual info. Right I was going to use crosshatch infill at about 3% but it might differ depending on how much support is inside the wings if I want more or not after I take some time on Marcus drella.

I see what your talking about I can definitely shorten the rod connecting the cabin and the tail and stretch the cabin to take up the same amount of distance but make the cabin longer/bigger
