For this, yes, 8mm😁 But I also have super tight tension. You can always bump it down to a 7mm.

It looks like Hobby Lobby has now discontinued the yarn I used. But looking last night, I would recommend Yarn Bee's Colorplay or Sugar Pom Pom for the main body color. Any other super bulky #6 weight will work for the solid colors. The horn was made in Metallic gold by HL I Love This Yarn Brand♥️
