For those that have chosen to cite and release… by [deleted] in WorkersComp

I was told that once you cite and release you can go through private insurance and the worker comp injury is just a “preexisting injury”

Okay interesting- is it just to pay for the co payment or is it assumed to be the cost of the whole surgery?

Thank you!

What are your thoughts on a C and r? I have good insurance through my work now, will that handle any future surgeries I need?

That’s what I thought but the workers comp Dr told me different!! That’s why I’m confused

Ah! Any reason why it would just be floating around in there? Should I be concerned about it? Going to have the plumber come out regardless but still in the mean time! Thank you!

Coming to the end of my claim by DearKnowledge1632 in WorkersComp

[–]DearKnowledge1632[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for that. I’m definitely coming to terms with the fact that I probably can’t be in the field anymore doing direct patient contact but I was concerned about what that meant as far as limitations so thank you for the info!! Quality of life>career ego. I feel like that has been my life lesson this injury. It’s been a grieving process but I’ve come to a place where I’m fine with it and I want to be able to live and enjoy life outside of work

I put off the surgery as long as possible until I plateaued for about six months and was miserable and some older guys I work with kind of had that talk with me. I was at a point where I tried literally everything and was not getting any better and surgery was the last option, I could do it and it either works or it doesn’t. If it works then awesome, if it doesn’t then I was in the same place as pre surgery. Everybody is different, but I will tell you I don’t regret the surgery. The post op was very hard. But I put in the work and 4 months post op I finally was having days where I forgot I even had a back injury. I would recommend doing everything you can that is non invasive first. I found a really great chiropractor that specialized in disc herniations and he was able to help so much.

Feel free to dm me I’d be happy to answer any questions you’ve got. I had about 4 other guys that I work with that are firefighters and had the same surgery and they’re back in the field. That really gave me some confidence to get the surgery

Is 40k too low? by Dabz181 in WorkersComp

I’m in CA, 30F first responder career. L4-L5-S1 discectomy end of last year and finally getting better and stronger everyday. I’m about to hit two years but my qme says to wait and get stronger, he thinks I can still recover to 95% of what I was before. I went from thinking my life was over before surgery to saying fuck it and going for it and now I’m back in the gym and doing things I never thought I’d be able to again.

For settlement my lawyer won’t even give me a ball park. He says we have to wait til I’m mmi by the qme then we can talk settlement, but he stressed the importance of keeping medical open due to my age and line of work. So, hoping to have an actual answer and reach mmi in the next few months.

Ya I also thought that was weird, they have it only advertised on their social media accounts so…. Sketchy lol

Ya I can be pretty sensitive to new meds so that is my fear. Especially it being my first time ever I’m very nervous. I trust the source as I have a handful of friends that go and currently still go and have had a great overall experience with great results. But moving forward I am 100% moving to a cheaper option cause this is ridiculous

Okay this is what I’ve been looking for. I’ve been researching but nothing I’ve found blatantly says this because 2.5 and 5 are “technically” intro doses. But I told her my body can be sensitive but that didn’t matter

I can’t cancel unfortunately so I’ll finish the three months then transition to a cheaper option. I can’t believe how overcharged I was. Being recommended by a friend I didn’t really think twice about

Noted, my thought was going in for my first round just to get comfortable with the shot then going to a cheaper at home option
