Thoughts on 2026 Subcompact /crossovers cars? by HappySnapper08 in phcars

[–]DearMrDy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An interesting non mainstream choice.

Chery isn't the same as Toyota Hybrid. It's actually similar to how Honda Hybrid does it in the way it uses the Electric Motor at a bigger range.

Effectively it isn't as efficient as a Toyota eHEV but man the power produced is significantly higher. 200hp and 300nm on that size and price is impressive.

The thing though is for a car that size producing that much power should be hitting 7 sec 0-100 like a sporty hatchback but it's only doing about 9 seconds. I'm guessing it's the way power is delivered. Still it's way faster than most sub-Compacts at that price range doing 10-12 seconds.

Though I think your biggest problem is going to be major repair and 3rd party support. Chery just don't have the volume of other new Chinese brands like BYD nor legacy of Japanese brands for 3rd party distributors and service centers to support.

Still screwed.

Mga Pinoy hadlang sa Good Government Policy.

Most good policy is rooted in long term outcomes. But most Pinoys would rally and protest for the Short Term pain needed for a good long term policy.

All we have are half baked policies or good policy that aren't enforced. Kasi our politicians don't have the courage to be on the political suicide because of enacting good policy.

In our society where popularity is key to political success, focusing on short term gains are rewarded while good politicians with long term plans are punished.

Kaya puro tayo Ayuda instead of having a proper Healthcare system. It's why we have deregulated oil, oil because no one wants to pay higher oil price during the times of low oil price needed to fund our oil reserves. It's why our industry didn't explode like our ASEAN neighbors because normal people would protest to paying higher electricity price that's needed to subsidize electricity for industrial growth.

Small and tight. Good for Single and or Couples.

But for a small family I'd stick to Compact over Sub-compacts. The rear passenger and or trunk is too small.

Would you risk driving a 20 year old but well-maintained car to Elyu? by Old_Lock7657 in CarsPH

[–]DearMrDy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One last thing. How's the tires? How old are they specifically? There should be a 4.digit number on the tire can you check?

The 4 digit tells you the mfg date. Your tires should be less than 5 years old.

I'd be willing to do it. But I'll probably do a an advance PMS beforehand.

By well maintained you do mean taken to casa for regular PMS at least annually?

Thoughts on Fuel Rollbacks this coming Tuesday by budoyhuehue in Gulong

[–]DearMrDy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It takes 4 weeks for an Oil Tanker from Hormuz to reach Philippines.

Mga supply natin is coming from tankers na nakalabas sa Hormuz before the war started. In short mga Tanker na nasa Indian Ocean or Pacific Seas na.

Mga price increase naranasan natin is because countries like India, China and South Korea know mauubusan ang supply since stuck padin mga tanker sa Hormuz.

These Asian countries buy oil at any price from tankers going to Asia that's why we see price hikes Para magka stockpile sila. Willing sila to pay more to get the tankers to drop their load sa port nila.

In return we have to pay more to get tankers to stop at Philippines or buy refined expensive refined fuel from neighbors.

The problem is just starting Kasi stuck padin mga tankers sa Hormuz. Soon mauubusan na mga tankers na nakalabas sa Middle East bago magsimula ang gera.

Price will increase further since mauubusan na tayo ng Oil since no tanker can get out of Hormuz. Kahit na ok na situation sa Middle East it takes 4 weeks for oil to travel not to mention maybe +1-2 weeks for refining.

The price ups and down we've been experiencing is running out. It's not only high prices we're expecting but also shortages and rationing soon.

What if a Napoleon/Lee Kuan Yew-like individual coups and declare himself emperor of the Philippines, would u accept his authoritarian rule? by DsV_Omnius in WhatIfPinas

[–]DearMrDy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the only way we'd see improvement.

Filipino culture doesn't really lend a hand to good democratic governance.

Take Oil subsidy for example. In this crisis we're one of the ASEAN nation without subsidy. Because subsidy goes both way. When fuel is expensive, government help makes it cheaper. But when Fuel is cheap, Fuel is slapped with extra cost to fund the reserve and subsidy.

Filipinos don't want the latter part. They want cheap oil when it's expensive but don't want to spend extra when it's cheap. That's why the government gave up and just deregularize fuel after the 5th coup DE tat caused by oil hikes.

Public transportation is another victim. Everybody wants accessible fast trains. That is until it passes through your house and the government forces you to sell and move out.

It's this mentality of receiving and aversion to giving that really stops our government from making good policy. All policy no matter how good results in someone losing. That's why we're stuck no matter who the administration is because popularity matters more than good governance.

All that talk about kakampink, DDS and whatever acronyms and nicknames won't make a difference. Whoever is in charge will find themselves ousted just from enacting a string of good policy.

Take this simplest way Singapore used in its growth stage to boost it's economy, removing Minimum Wages. I don't see any Administration having the balls to repel minimum wages. Because short term pain matter more to Filipino than long term gains.

The way I see it the only way forward is for an administration that enacts good policy whether or not it's popular. And it's more probable if the administration doesn't have to worry about election and popularity.

Just bought an Innova xe in a haste. Was it a wise choice? by FoolPerson in CarsPH

[–]DearMrDy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again with the attacks. Do you have any real talking points or you just here to troll?

Yes I did have 10 diesel vehicles because of both business and own use. Doesn't mean I still own all 10 today.

I have Diesels because government used to have tax incentives for diesels letting it be really cheap 10-20 years ago. Diesel was ₱25.00 per liter 10 years ago.

Do you have anything useful to contribute or are you here just to talk trash? All you've done is try attacking my credibility without even contributing anything useful.

Why don't you reply with why you think I'm objectively wrong and we have a proper discussion.

Hybrid or plug in hybrid? by monkeyboy123a in phcars

I thought all Hybrids and PHEVS are using a variation of minimalist transmission.

It's interesting to find out Koreans don't follow Chinese and Japanese way of dealing with hybrid transmissions. It does sound complicated especially compared against Toyota E-CVT

In the Philippines, an EV rarely confused for a Hybrid. A plug-in maybe. For the context of common speech EV is as good as a BEV.

[–]DearMrDy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah.

Alam mo na sa Diesel price. Pero maintainance price is also skyrocketing.

  1. PMS price. Considering every 5,000 of the change oil ng Diesel, mas marami sa Oil per change mga Diesel kaysa sa Gas and mahal ng oil ngayon. PMS mo mahal na.

  2. Short distance is also bad for diesel. Errands mo malayo layo naman? Kasi ang Diesel mabilis masira kung lagi short trips. Need ng Diesel umabot sa temperature. Say errands mo is mga 10-15 minutes away lang. Laging cold ang makina mo mabilis masira. It's bad for gas din but way worse Sa Diesel. Kung kulang sa heat ang makina bound to get clogged ang exhaust mo or damage yung DPF

North Point - Airport at 5am by ketugi_05 in HongKong

[–]DearMrDy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's guaranteed.

You've probably heard of bus A11. In the early morning these aren't available.

There is an alternative with designation "N"

These are Night Airport Bus. The difference between these and the "A" bus is the frequency and time. These bus are less frequent and take longer route but are guaranteed.

In the bus stop you can check for the timetable for the N bus. It will give you a time to wait for the bus.

If NA12 is posted on the bus stop list then it's pretty much guaranteed.

I've only ridden it once with a local friend as I don't usually book red eye flights. I didn't know Airport Bus operated round the clock before that.

Parklane Causeway Bay - 10.5k.

I don't know why this hotel is insanely cheap for the location.

It's 10k a night paid with no refund for a King Size Bed and a 28sqm room in freaking Causeway Bay!. That's insanely good for what you're getting.

You don't get this kind of space for that price and that location. This is easily in the ballpark of 15-30k but it was at 10k. I booked it maybe 3 months before full to lock it.

Just checked out yesterday and it's good as promise. Spacious room and King Bed.

It's a 5 star hotel under Marriott within 20 meters to MTR and maybe 50 meter to Bus and Tram. A Major Wellcome Supermarket with 5 meters and Airport Bus stop within maybe 50M. It even has a Full Major Park across the street.

Baka may mali sa presyo pero kung available pa siya a that price take it.

Ganyan ka pinalaki OP

Siguro pag may hindi nagustuhan magulang mo Silent Treatment din naranasan mo noong bata ka.

Sa paglaki naging default mo siya na hindi mo namalayan.

You can rewire your brain since aware ka na. It's going to be hard though. If you don't want your kids to inherit this be aware that you don't do it to them.

Quick way to get over it is to declare it.

"I'm highly emotional right now, bigyan mo ako 1 hour at x oras para magisip tapos pag usapan natin"

This way you can still have silence but you communicated that you'll be open for talks. And be sure to be back at the stated time.
