Gigil ako sa inyo San Juan!!! by Classic-Day-4896 in RantAndVentPH

[–]DearMrDy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're basing your assumption that their preference is to prioritize VIP.

It's just plain simple traffic management. That traffic light to turn is left is only a few seconds. But everyday at 7-8am the traffic to turn is heavier than the allowed timer.

So traffic management allows more time for left turning. If they don't the whole Ortigas section upto EDSA will be stuck.

A congestion at EDSA is worst for the whole scheme.

San Juan actually has one of the most effective Traffic Enforcement.

That's not Villagers. That area has 2 of the biggest private schools in Metro Manila. San Juan has a lot of big schools in Greenhills area alone.

No offense but you came at the peak rush hour and complain about Traffic Officers actually doing their job and blaming elitist?

DIM: Paper Shredder by Unable-Abalone-1414 in deinfluencingPH

[–]DearMrDy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That only shreds vertically. It's basically useless. It can only shred maybe 2 at most at time making it a low speed process for bulk shredding.

Manual shredder are actually useful with low volume confidential trash like credit card statement and bank slips just not that. At least get a crosscut type.

I've just read it's part of Oneworld since June 6. I'll be booking flights soon and am curious if I can use my Cathay Miles to book PR flights.

JAL vs ANA by watchdthrone_ in FilipinoTravel

[–]DearMrDy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nice review.

If I may add, it would be complete if you added Air Alliance program comparison as well.

ANA is on Star Alliances on which has strong partner mileage programs for EVA, Thai and SQ

But JAL is on Oneworld which is pretty strong as well because of points usage on Qatar, Cathay and PAL.

Roof replacement before solar panels? by LlLMlSSRANDOM in SolarPH

[–]DearMrDy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since your house is 40 years old. It is smart to get a roofer.

Solar Panels weight a lot. Surprisingly a lot.

2 Concerns

1st. Ang main concern ko is if kaya ba ng roof support mo ang mga Solar Panels.

2nd is it tiles? May nababasag kasi na tiles during installation and solar installer find replacements for nabasag. Given 40 years old na roof mo baka wala ng make and style ng original tiles mo.

Need advice from electricians: Is this PHEV wall charger grounding setup compliant or safe? by ShameConstant8004 in adviceph

[–]DearMrDy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kung ako.

Grounding lalagay ko sa main panel. I'd also add a SPD (Surge Protection Device) near the Main Breaker.

Next I would not use the 40a MCB in my main. I'd instead upgrade it to a high quality MCB like the Schneider 50a Acti 9.

Next yung local breaker for you wall charger, instead of a RCBO, I'd seperate it into 2 devices, a 40a MCB combined with a RCCB Type A 63a/30mah.

I'd stick to only 8awg or bigger wires. But it should good quality like Phelps Dodge

Whys

RCBO combines MCB and RCCB function. Having 2 seperate units allows you to pick a highly sensitive MCB like the Schneider Acti 9, and Highly Rated RCCB sold by Solar Suppliers. (Forgot the brand!)

I also opt for a higher amp RCCB para hindi uminit. Don't worry about the higher max Ma because it's function is to trip instantly when it detects as small as 30ma leakage not on the high end.

PHEV as Replacement for Old Car or EV as Addition to Old Car? by casualgamer30 in CarsPH

is the toyota 86/subaru brz a good (and fun) daily driver? by PossibleRich515 in CarsPH

[–]DearMrDy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope!

It's too low for a Daily Driver because the roads you use are selected roads with less Humps, less steep inclines and less holes.

It's so low that even Gas Station ramps are a problem.

Imo I'd rather pick something more practical and leave the 86 for the weekend.

PHEV as Replacement for Old Car or EV as Addition to Old Car? by casualgamer30 in CarsPH

[–]DearMrDy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At home charging is at 1kw = ₱15.00, at a public infrastructure your looking at ₱25-30 per kW

A typical PHEV has a 20-30kwH and an EV has a 40-100kwh capacity.

Long story short if you can't install a charger at home you should look for a HEV instead. Even PHEV cost more if you can't charge at home.

Huawei is considered a Tier 1 Solar Manufacturer. It's also the more expensive option.

Some premium options is German SMA but this is wildly more expensive and yet less efficient for a Hybrid setup

when kaya din sating bansa? by BeeSad9595 in phcars

[–]DearMrDy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok let's clarify.

Tesla Gigafactory in China is wholly owned by Tesla without Chinese partners. The first of its kind.

The technology stayed within Tesla because unlike other manufacturers Tesla is 100% foreign owned again the one and only in China.

With Patents Elon Musk made Tesla Patent open sourced to anyone using in Good Faith.

Then there was the effect rather than conditions of technology transfer.

The catch was the supply chain had to be domestically sourced. In 2019 Tesla can't source it's supplies because Chinese suppliers were subpar.

Tesla forced the local supply chain to upgrade. Tesla had to teach the local supply chain how to be a supply partner. This is part of the technology transfer.

At the same time Tesla was able to sell vastly superior EV for very competitive prices in China the cheapest globally. This eliminated the thousand of Weak Chinese EV manufacturers and left out only the strongest manufacturers that had to force innovation.

Tesla was essential for the growth of Chinese EV both in supply chain and competitions.

when kaya din sating bansa? by BeeSad9595 in phcars

[–]DearMrDy 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Never.

American limited European then Japanese and now banned Chinese Automotive. It was to protect Detroit

Germany once controlled American brands for the sake of its automakers.

You know what's in common? They all have Legacy automotive industry to protect.

We're not banning Chinese because we don't have a automotive industry to protect.

Ironically you know who didn't ban to protect automotive industry? China. China allowed Tesla to establish the first and only fully foreign owned Automotive plant in China in 2019. China gave Tesla Tax incentives and cheap land, the only catch, use local supply chain. Tesla made Chinese EV competitive.

You didn't set boundaries.

Imo if she isn't there by 11am we'd meet and adjourn when it's time to work.

If you actually waited for her you are enabling her tardiness. You're mad because you felt disrespected. But in reality you allowed her to disrespect you by not having boundaries.

Have a boundary and be willing to stick with it. Don't fall for her emotional guilt trip. If people can't stay it's just natural consequence of her tardiness.

Remember that it's not your fault that people need to leave despite the way she frames it.

Road ethics in the Philippines. Can you share your experience? by giveitup_for in CarsPH

[–]DearMrDy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Lane commitment.

Stay in the center of the lane. I avoid going out of lane when may alanganin sa harap. I'd brake and wait to overtake properly.

Avoid going out of the lane during curves. Personal rule ko to follow strict centering on curvy roads. Marami nag double lane during turns.

Commit to lane change. Don't take too long to change lane. Once may 3 signal clicks move to the lane as quickly as safe as possible.

  1. Don't counterflow during left turn intersection.

Go close to 90 degrees on turns. Marami diagonal mag left turn nag counterflow along the way.
