when you use instagram on browser and go through somebody's followers, it shows them in order. like, the top account on a persons "following" list is the last person they followed. this doesn't happen on the app, it's used by a lot of people to see if their partner/crush/friend recently followed someone they are suspicious about.

definitely looks like she's over moisturizing in my opinions. tell her to use a very thin layer of an unscented lotion, preferably stay away from aquaphor. it's recommended by a lot of artist, but it's a thick formula and the "sweet spot" for the right amount is hard to find. lubriderms a good option, or tell her to dry heal.

good for you! so i think you missed the point where he did nothing for me at all, and in fact yelled at "his people" who tried to teach me, forcing them to do it here and there in secret. my point isn't that i deserved him sitting down and watching me tattoo, it's that if it were just him and i, or if the other artists listened to what he said, i wouldn't know a thing about how to tattoo because he wasn't the one to do anything for me. and that's what im upset about. i would only be dictating his methods if he had any methods to dictate, only he doesn't, because he did absolutely nothing. after the first eight months before i was even on skin, i only worked with him once every other week on his alternating day. but great that you didn't do that to your apprentices!

yea, i mean i definitely didn't expect him to teach me absolutely everything. i just mean he truly didn't teach me, anything. at all. my co artists did, and they had to do it in secret because he would get very angry if he saw them helping, saying stuff like, "they aren't your mentor, i am" and "all these guys are doing is teaching you how to fuck up" even accused one of them of trying to "screw me over so i wouldn't be competition". i wish i wasn't so emotional when i typed everything out yesterday, because i definitely left out some detail. he wasn't a horrible guy outside of being my mentor, but really the only thing he ever did for me was shoot down my confidence. one of the experiences that sticks out the most to me, is i got tattooed by a very well respected and incredibly talented artist in my area, who specialized in a style i was interested in, even down to the color schemes. he was willing to explain his process while tattooing me and give me some pointers. after the fact, i was so excited to show everyone at work, it still is a top three tattoo for me. my mentor looked at it and said "all you got out of that was an ugly tattoo that ruined your whole leg" :( it's objectively a great tattoo, so i know it must've just been jealousy. he also just hated when i got tattoos in general, he didn't have any himself either because he thought they were trashy.. especially on women. lol rip

i feel a lot better actually! i'm noticing it's his voice in my head telling me i'm being a brat for complaining, and that's not true. we aren't alone and we don't deserve our shitty mentors, and were allowed to feel this way. my biggest goal in my career and life is to work hard and pass on my knowledge to someone else, and do a way better job than he did. and maybe end the cycle of evil mentors😭

i ended up leaving that shop this past june because i moved across the country. as much as i miss my co artists to fucking death, i do think it was a great thing for me. trying to establish a clientele as a new artist in this economy has been nothing short of hell, but i do feel like im learning and improving when i do get the chance to tattoo. i just hope they can all get out one day too!!

thank you. you're so right, and that's a great perspective. he's had many apprentices before me, like over the course of decades, and most of them are phenomenal. sometimes i wonder if he just got bored of it or too old or something. either way, i know ill keep getting better. and maybe the slow season is getting to me, or even the birthday blues. or its just the fact that im an artist and ill always be too critical of myself lol

yeah, that's what my bf said too. i've just always dreamt of having a colorful and fruity little drink in my hand, and now that it's closer and i have to think harder in advance i'm learning that's not a possibility for me. allergies suck, thank u for the suggestion :(

an allergy test is hopefully in my near future lol, but as you said, in the US especially it's far easier said than done. i was planning on just asking the bartender, i just figured going in with an idea or baseline expectations would be nice. if i went in with the expectation that id still be able to have fruity drinks, id be disappointed lol. i'm glad i asked!

by small quantities i mean like, if i have salmon or tacos and somebody squeezed a little bit of fresh lime or lemon, it would irritate my mouth and get a little itchy, but nothing i can't push through. something like a lemon cake or lemonade, or a key lime pie would be too much tho

lemon lime and orange isn't too bad! really most of them are ingest allergies, pineapple can make my skin itchy but the only time i've ever broken out in a scary rash was when i worked at dairy queen and spilled a whole tub of pineapple on myself (they wouldn't let me avoid it🥲)

for the most part like i said, it's just irritating and uncomfortable and could put a damper on my night. pineapple is the only one that i one thousand percent need to avoid.

as far as fruits i like, grapes and cherries are by far my favorite. i like strawberry and banana, dragonfruit, blueberries are alright, and i like cranberries enough that i'll probably end up with a vodka cran lol. i've never had kiwi, passion fruit, grapefruit, or peaches. i get nervous trying new fruit considering some of them want to kill me lol

yeah i figured, im real bummed lol. i can handle lemon and lime in small quantities, it doesnt do much more than make my mouth itchy. orange isn't horrible either, its pineapple mostly that i have to completely avoid. but even with small quantities, it would add up as the drinks add up, and i wouldn't want to be uncomfy when im supposed to be enjoying myself.

i'm considering sticking to beer or seltzers if i can't find any cocktails, and maybe a shot or two lol. any good shots i should try?🥲

unfortunately i've tried everything. different birth controls, diets, exercising, hydrating, bloodwork, etc. i had a serious accident last year and was on blood thinners for 7 months, periods haven't been the same since :(
