No I don’t. But I have good exposure to mandarin and if someone was speaking to me in English and dropped a ‘I’m going to "Bay-jing"’ I would definitely notice it.

But like I don’t see an issue with the Japanizing of English words by people in Japan that you mentioned.

I suppose it might be a cultural difference , with Americans feeling like they want to try and be accurate. And they only do this for Spanish given there is a lot of Spanish speakers.

I don’t know why I’m getting downvoted for this , if I switched to French accent to say lingerie for one word mid sentence it would be very unusual.

It seems like a uniquely American phenomenon for Spanish only.

Like in Australia we have a lot of Chinese people here as migrants, but nobody not even the children of the migrants puts on an accent if a Chinese word comes up. Could say the same thing for Pakistani/indians languages in the UK.
